A group adventure in Azores, São Miguel Island, designed to balance nature, food, adventure, relax and scenic highlights in 8 days. 📌 What’s Included • Small group (max 7 people) with an experienced coordinator (500+ travelers guided worldwide) • Our own rental car/van (depending on the size of the group). The coordinator will drive the entire trip, so forget about driving! • Accommodation in a shared group room (comfortable, clean, and used as a base for the whole trip) • Selected local experiences: – Surf lesson (beginner or advanced) during one day. – Entry to Poça da Dona Beija thermal baths • Pre-trip support and guidance 🌏 Key Destinations & Flow 🏙️ Ponta Delgada: The island’s capital and your first contact with Azores. A relaxed Atlantic city with historic streets, local life, and a charming coastal atmosphere. The perfect place for setting our base for the whole trip. 🌄 Sete Cidades: One of the most iconic landscapes in Azores. Trekking along the crater ridge with breathtaking views over the twin lakes and the ocean, with optional kayaking experience. 🌊 Ribeira Grande & North Coast: Wild volcanic beaches and surf culture. We will have our included surf lesson here in spots like Santa Bárbara, followed by a unique thermal sea experience at Ponta da Ferraria. 🌿 Lagoa do Fogo & Caloura: A stunning volcanic lagoon surrounded by untouched nature. Trekking down to the lake and later enjoying fresh seafood by the ocean. 🌋 Furnas: A geothermal paradise with fumaroles, volcanic landscapes, and the famous “cozido” cooked underground. Relaxing afternoon at Poça da Dona Beija thermal baths. 💧 Salto do Cabrito & Vila Franca do Campo: Waterfalls, lush nature, and a peaceful coastal village with views of its iconic volcanic islet. Vila Franca do Campo is home of the famous Queixadas, the most delightful dessert of the island. 🌱 Salto do Prego & Tea Plantations: Easy hike to a hidden waterfall surrounded by greenery, followed by a visit to Chá Gorreana, Europe’s only green tea plantation. ***We will adapt the itinerary to the weather conditions so the order might change! We will always try our best to see it all.*** 💭 Vibe & Highlights An immersive journey through volcanic landscapes, waterfalls, thermal waters, and Atlantic coastlines. A balanced mix of adventure, relaxation, and authentic local experiences—designed to enjoy the island without rushing. 💰 Estimated Extra Budget The estimated budget for expenses not included in the trip is approximately €200–€300 per person. This includes meals not specified, optional activities (like whale watching), entrance fees not listed, personal expenses, and any extra experiences you may choose during the trip.

Over time, I’ve learned how to move around the island in a way that feels natural, flexible, and authentic — away from the crowds and closer to its real essence. From hiking along crater rims in Sete Cidades, to relaxing in natural hot springs in Furnas, surfing on the north coast, or simply enjoying the slow rhythm of island life — I know how to balance adventure with genuine experiences. Travel has shaped me into someone adaptable, open-minded, and focused on people. For me, every trip is about creating a great group dynamic, making everyone feel comfortable, and turning shared moments into something unforgettable. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the destination — it’s about the people you share it with and the memories you take home.

🏨 During our trip, we’ll all stay together in a welcoming hostel in São Miguel, where comfort and relaxation await us from day one. We’ll share a 6-bed room, designed with cleanliness and comfort in mind, giving everyone a restful space after each day of adventure. The room has all the essentials — cozy beds with their own private space behind a curtain, lights and plugs and a private bathroom only for our room. The hostel also features a lovely common area with a terrace, where we can enjoy breakfast while catching a glimpse of the sea in the distance — a perfect start to our mornings before exploring the island. Having one home base for the entire trip makes everything easier and more relaxed: fewer changes, more comfort, and plenty of time to unwind and recharge together.

Ponta Delgada

Tag 1-2

Our first encounter with Azores will be in Ponta Delgada, the capital of São Miguel, a charming Atlantic city where tradition and local life blend with a relaxed atmosphere. We will have our base here for the whole trip. From there, we will move by own our car or van to every other place we visit in the island. As all travelers arrive, we’ll take the opportunity to stroll through its historic streets, along the waterfront, and around its lively squares. A perfect introduction to the island pace, volcanic essence, and unique personality.

Sete Cidades

Tag 2-3

We’ll start at the Vista do Rei viewpoint, offering a spectacular panorama of the Sete Cidades lagoons. From there, we’ll embark on a 14 km trek around the volcanic caldera along the mountain ridge, with incredible views of the crater and the ocean. Upon descending to the village, those who wish can complete the experience with a kayak on the lagoon. An active day immersed in volcanic nature.

Ribeira Grande

Tag 3-4

We’ll explore Ribeira Grande and the wild beaches of the island’s north coast, following its volcanic shoreline and surfer-friendly atmosphere. At one of its beaches, such as Santa Bárbara, there will be the option to surf and enjoy the Atlantic at one of São Miguel’s best spots. In the afternoon, we can relax in the hot springs of Ponta da Ferraria, bathing in the warm sea at sunset.

Lagoa do Fogo

Tag 4-5

We’ll explore the stunning Lagoa do Fogo, one of the island’s natural gems. We’ll embark on an approximately 11 km (round-trip) trek down to the lagoon’s shore, passing through completely untouched volcanic landscapes. After the hike, we’ll head to Caloura, where we’ll enjoy a fresh seafood lunch by the sea in a tranquil and authentic setting.

Furnas

Tag 5-6

We’ll discover Furnas, one of the island’s most special places, surrounded by fumaroles and volcanic landscapes. We’ll stroll through the geothermal area and the lagoon before trying the legendary Cozido das Furnas, a traditional stew cooked underground using volcanic heat. In the afternoon, we’ll relax in the thermal pools of Poça da Dona Beija, enjoying their warm waters in the heart of nature.

Salto do Cabrito

Tag 6-7

We’ll explore Salto do Cabrito, a spectacular waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation, where we can swim and enjoy this unique natural environment. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Vila Franca do Campo, strolling along its coastal area and discovering its quieter corners, with time to relax and continue enjoying the Atlantic scenery. We will also try the famous Queixadas, the best dessert of the island.

Gorreana Tea Factory

Tag 7-8

We’ll hike to Salto do Prego, a beautiful waterfall hidden among lush greenery, where we can swim and enjoy a stunning natural setting after a simple and very scenic route. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Chá Gorreana plantations, the only green tea plantation in Europe, where we’ll learn about its history and traditional production process while strolling through the green fields overlooking the ocean.

Ponta Delgada

We’ll say goodbye to the Azores once more in the capital of these unique and special islands. It will be the perfect moment for some last-minute shopping and to enjoy the final hours of adventure together before returning to our home country.
