This Mauritania photography trip will last 9 days and 8 nights, taking us to very different regions of Africa. I have been organizing photography trips for 18 years and am an award-winning photographer. Together, we will travel safely and discover another country. The silence of golden sand dunes, the dusty shelves of ancient libraries, the wild waves of the Atlantic, and the colorful life of fishing villages… This photography trip will bring together the captivating world of the Sahara Desert and the Atlantic coast. During our 9-day journey from the depths of the desert to the seashore, we will explore both historical towns and unspoiled nature, never putting down our cameras.
Hello! My name is Zehra and I'm an archeologist and art historian. My trips are based on photography. Those who want to join my trips will learn how to take good photos. On my travels, I enjoy going to interesting places that not everyone visits, and sometimes even staying in touristy areas. Over the past 18 years, I've organized trips to approximately 50 countries around the world and visited 84 countries.
Most of our trip will involve staying in hotels. However, there is one park area we will be visiting where we will be staying in an inn. Our accommodations will generally be in very good hotels. However, when we travel outside of major cities, staying in star-rated hotels is not possible, so we have chosen the best possible locations for our stay.

Nouakchott
Tag 1
Upon arrival in the capital, Nouakchott, we will either go to our hotel or to take photos depending on our flight schedule. This city has many fishermen who go fishing in colorful boats. Today we will go to photograph them. It will be a very colorful and fun start to our trip. Accommodation and dinner will be in Nouakchott.

Nouakchott
Tag 1-2
After breakfast, we will be photographing various places today. We will take pictures in places like the camel market, the fish market, and the vegetable market, where many different people come and we will see colorful clothes. We will be spending the night and having dinner in Nouakchott.

Atar
Tag 2-3
After breakfast, we set off for Atar. The colorful market in Atar will offer a visual feast with its people, spices, traditional clothing, and everyday life. We will end the day there experiencing all of this. We will spend the night in Atar.

Chinguetti
Tag 3-4
After breakfast, our journey will take us to Chinguetti. Chinguetti, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a veritable oasis where time seems to stand still. With its stone streets, ancient mosque ruins, and centuries-old manuscripts, it's a magical stop for photography enthusiasts. Here, we'll visit a very old library; the manuscripts that have been gathering dust on the shelves for years, and the Tuareg people who protect them, will be the natural subjects for our photographs. We will spend the night in Chinguetti.

Akjoujt
Tag 4-5
After breakfast, we will travel to Akjoujt. We will visit this old mining town. We will take photos in the local markets and amidst daily life. We will spend the night and have dinner here.T his is a small, non-touristy area. We'll see real life.

Nouadhibou
Tag 5-6
After breakfast, we set off for Nouadhibou. Today, the harbor, local markets, and the famous ship graveyard with its sunken ships offer beautiful photo opportunities. We will have a very enjoyable time in this beautiful place. Accommodation and dinner will be here.

Banc d'Arguin National Park
Tag 6-7
Today we will be entering the national park. Observing migratory birds and photographing the point where the ocean meets the desert will offer unforgettable moments. This park is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here we will also see and photograph traditional fishing techniques. Our accommodation and dinner will be at a hotel inside the park.

Nouakchott
Tag 7-8
On the way back from Nouakchott, we will stop at a small fishing village. The traditional fishing methods of the Imraguen people are very valuable both culturally and photographically. Here we will photograph the colorful fishing boats and fishermen. We will reach the capital in the late afternoon.

Tag 8-9
Today is our last day. We will have free time until our flight time. We can make shopping or walk around freely. Our vehicle will come to hotel to pick us up to international airport. We will say good bye to each other until the next trip.
