Details zu diesem Trip
Hi, guys! This time around, we are going to explore the fascinating Island of Lanzarote! Over the course of one week spent together we will discover both its stunning scenery and the fascinating Art & Cultural Heritage! Among other things, we’ll discover the island’s incredible volcanic lunar landscapes, visit some of the world’s most beautiful house museums đŸ›ïžđŸŽš, and challenge ourselves with a surfing lesson at one of the world’s most famous surfing beaches đŸŒŠđŸ„â€â™€ïžâ˜€ïž!

But first
it’s-a me, Giulia! I'm the typical Italian girl, raised on Margherita Pizza 🍕 and weird hands gestures! I love meeting new people and getting to know new cultures. Whether you are looking for a new friend, a new mum or a new mascotte, I can be the one for you 😬!

Where are we staying? 🏡 Our accommodation will be situated in the center of the Island, at San BartolomĂ©, allowing us to reach any destination quickly and easily! —> Private Apartment in a shared (but divided) Villa with 3 rooms & 2 bathrooms: 1 private room with a double bed (small overprice to be considered) + 1 shared room with 2 single beds (2 boys) + 1 shared room with 2 single beds (2 girls) What about the transportation?🚙 As you have probably guessed, 😆 we are going to move around mainly by 🚗! I’ll be your private driver! I’m going to rent a big car (probably an SUV) but please still consider it will be shared by the 5 of us. The trip costs include 💰: -Accommodation -Car rental -Jameos del Agua Ticket Entrance -Timanfaya National Park Ticket Entrance -LagOmar Museum Ticket Entrance -Mirador del Rio Ticket Entrance -Cesar Manrique Home Museum Ticket Entrance -Cesar Manrique FundaciĂłn Ticket Entrance -Cuevas de los Verdes Ticket Entrance -2 hours Surf Lesson for Beginners -Free Wi-Fi at the accommodation (I still recommend you buying a Tourist SIM online) -Travel Insurance (unluckily, for now, provided only for travellers from Germany and Austria) What is not included 💾: -Flights -Gasoline -Meals -Other activities not mentioned in “The trip costs include” -Travel Insurance (except travelers from Germany and Austria) ❕ IMPORTANT GUIDELINES: —> It will be mandatory for this specific trip to be lightly equipped, as we will be sharing a car with 5 of us, and the trunk will only be one đŸ€“! I suggest a backpack for the all load and a small bag 🎒 for the daily explorations. —> Always bring some cash đŸ’¶. —> Dress in layers đŸ§„: despite its reputation as a hot Island, it is not always summer in Lanzarote! Remember to bring at least a couple of sweaters or sweatshirts (IT’S WINDY)! —> HOWEVER still bring a swimsuit with you ! As a matter of facts, for all the visits to beaches and natural pools on this particular trip, given the time of year, swimming might not be ideal on certain days... but hope springs eternal! Maybe we’ll even manage to take a dip here and there! —> For the first day, we will leave once you all arrive at the meeting point. We will probably gather together in the afternoon at Lanzarote Airport, so it will be essential to book a flight on the morning of the 23rd! For any other question or curiosity, don’t mind sending me a message here on JoinMyTrip (unfortunately, if you just click on the "interest button" I cannot contact you for further details)! Can’t wait to meet you soon đŸ€—, Giulia *The accommodation and all the activities planned may be subject to variation based on both the weather and the number of TripMates. Every change to the original plan will be notified in advance and another option/experience will be provided instead.

San bartolome lanzarote

Tag 1-7
On the first day, we will actually meet at Lanzarote Airport, in the late afternoon for the car pick-up at the rental office! Then we will directly drive to our home for the week: a fantastic Villa in Lanzarote! Depending on the our we may start our first activity of the trip already, by visiting the Campesino Home Museum, a cultural museum created by the renowned artist and architect CĂ©sar Manrique as a tribute to the island’s farmers. The museum showcases Lanzarote’s traditional architecture, agriculture, craftsmanship, and gastronomy! If it won’t be possible because of someone’s flight the activity will be for sure rescheduled for the coming days. For the evening, we'll decide whether to pick up some groceries and eat together at home, or book a nearby restaurant (this will apply to all the evenings ahead, so we can go with the group's mood!).‹

Jameos del Agua

Tag 7
We’ll wake up early (but not too early đŸ€“) and enjoy breakfast at home or at a cafĂ©, depending on the group’s preference. We’ll then set off on our first expedition to explore the island! Specifically, we’ll visit the following places: - Jameos del Agua: is one of Lanzarote’s most iconic attractions, designed by CĂ©sar Manrique within a volcanic lava tube. It combines nature, art, and architecture, featuring an underground lake inhabited by unique blind albino crabs found only in this environment. - Cuevas de los Verdes: a spectacular volcanic cave formed by ancient lava flows from the VolcĂĄn de La Corona. Visitors can explore its impressive tunnels, chambers, and rock formations while discovering the island’s volcanic origins. - Mirador del Rio: a panoramic viewpoint designed by CĂ©sar Manrique on the northern cliffs of Lanzarote. It offers breathtaking views of the nearby La Graciosa and the surrounding Atlantic Ocean. - Punta Mujeres: a charming coastal village in northern Lanzarote, known for its traditional whitewashed houses and natural sea pools. It offers a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful ocean views, making it an ideal spot to experience local island life.

Timanfaya National Park

Tag 7
The morning will start with a trip to Timanfaya National Park, Lanzarote’s most famous natural attraction, featuring a dramatic volcanic landscape shaped by eruptions in the 18th century. There we will explore its unique terrain and witness geothermal phenomena that highlight the island’s volcanic activity (Please note that, due to current policies, we will not be able to visit the park on our own. For this reason, we will join a 40-minute bus tour and attend demonstrations of geothermal power, all led by a park guide.). Right after we will move to Charco de los Clicos, a striking green lagoon located beside a black volcanic beach on Lanzarote’s west coast. Its vivid color, created by algae and minerals, contrasts beautifully with the surrounding volcanic landscape. Our next two, and final stops will be Salinas de Janubio (the largest salt-producing area in the Canary Islands,) & Los Charcones (a series of natural volcanic pools, known for their crystal-clear waters and rugged surroundings).

Las Grietas

Tag 7
We will begin the day with a stunning hike art Las Grietas! This will be a short and fascinating hike through the canyons formed by lava flows on the slopes of Montaña Blanca in Lanzarote. The trail, just 1.8 km long with an elevation gain of only 42 meters, can easily be completed in about 30–60 minutes. After we will drive to Museo LagOmar: a unique architectural complex built into a volcanic quarry and surrounded by caves and lush gardens. Famous for its striking design and connection to actor Omar Sharif, it blends art, nature, and Lanzarote’s volcanic landscape. Then we will move to Jardin de Cactus, a botanical garden designed by CĂ©sar Manrique, featuring over 1,000 species of cacti from around the world. Set within a former quarry, it is one of Lanzarote’s most distinctive examples of the harmony between art and nature. A brief stop to Ciudad Estratificada Los roferos will follow. Here we will admire a volcanic landscape, characterized by layered rock formations created by successive lava flows and erosion. And, finally, we will visit Teguise, one of the oldest towns in Lanzarote and was once the island’s capital. It is known for its historic architecture, cobbled streets, and lively Sunday market, which attracts visitors from all over the island.

Caldera de Los Cuervos

Tag 7
The day will start with a visit to the CĂ©sar Manrique Foundation, which is the former home of CĂ©sar Manrique, built inside a series of volcanic lava bubbles. Today it is a museum dedicated to his life and work, showcasing his art and his vision of harmony between nature and architecture. Then we will venture on another easy but stunning hike at Caldera de Los Cuervos: an easy volcanic trekking, located in the Timanfaya region of Lanzarote. The trail circles a well-preserved crater, offering a close-up view of the island’s volcanic landscape. Right after we will drive to Playa de Papagayo, one of Lanzarote’s most famous beaches, located within a protected natural area in the south of the island. It is known for its golden sand, clear turquoise waters, and sheltered coves surrounded by volcanic cliffs, and to Playa de Janubio, famous for its black sand. Last stop of the day will be at Mirador de Punta Pechiguera: a scenic viewpoint located on the southern coast of Lanzarote. It offers wide views over the Atlantic Ocean, with dramatic volcanic landscapes and sunsets, and is close to the lighthouse of Punta Pechiguera.

Caleta de Famara

Our last full day together will start with a bang: we’ll dive right into the sea, ready for an amazing beginner’s surfing lesson! In the afternoon, instead we will move to Haria, a picturesque village in northern Lanzarote, known as the “Valley of a Thousand Palms.” Surrounded by volcanic mountains, it offers a lush contrast to the island’s arid landscapes and is closely associated with CĂ©sar Manrique, who spent his final years here. Infact, here we will also visit our last cultural site: the eponymous house museum!
