Details zu diesem Trip
This month-long co-working retreat in Chongqing is designed for remote workers, digital nomads, and travelers who want to live and work in China with depth and community. Participants balance focused workdays with shared meals, weekday cultural and social activities, and curated weekend excursions to nearby towns, nature, and cultural landmarks. With a small, intentional group and a lived-in pace, the retreat offers a grounded way to experience everyday life in China while staying productive and connected.

My name is Stella. I am a tech entrepreneur, designer, and full-time digital nomad from China. I moved to the United States to study at university with a full scholarship when I was 18 and founded my education company Path Unbound to pursue my entrepreneurial dream. I now organize a small-group retreat in China for digital nomads and remote workers a few times a year to experience China authentically the local way.

Participants will stay in a modern hotel located in central Chongqing, within easy reach of daily amenities and close to Li Zi Ba train station (famous train through apartment building). The hotel opened in 2024 and offers a comfortable, contemporary base for both work and daily life during the retreat. It is highly rated by customers, convenient yet quiet enough for a good night's sleep. All rooms are private and equipped with a large queen bed, private bathroom, desk, chair, air conditioning, and reliable Wi-Fi. Some rooms offer city views. The setup is designed to support remote work while providing a quiet, comfortable space to rest and recharge. The central location makes it easy to move between co-working time, weekday activities, group dinners, and weekend excursions, allowing participants to experience city life without long commutes.

Chongqing

Tag 1-30
Chongqing is a major riverside city in southwest China, known for its dramatic terrain, layered neighborhoods, and strong local food culture. Built across hills and intersected by the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, the city offers a unique urban environment where daily life unfolds vertically through bridges, stairways, cable cars, and riverfront promenades. Despite its size, Chongqing is highly livable, with walkable districts, reliable public transportation, and a strong café and dining scene. It provides an ideal base for remote work while offering easy access to surrounding nature, historic towns, hot springs, and cultural landmarks within a short travel distance. This retreat is based in the city itself, allowing participants to experience everyday life in China while balancing focused workdays with curated weekday activities and weekend excursions into the wider region. Chongqing’s energy, affordability, and depth make it a compelling location for those seeking an immersive, community-based experience in China rather than a fast-paced sightseeing trip. Program The retreat runs over the course of a month, with participants welcome to join for 1, 2, 3, or 4 weeks, depending on their availability and preferences. Not everyone attends for the full month, and the program is designed so that participants can integrate smoothly regardless of when they arrive or how long they stay. Rather than a rigid itinerary, the retreat follows a consistent weekly rhythm that supports both productive remote work and meaningful shared experiences. Weekdays Weekdays are work-focused. Participants typically work during the day, many aligning with European hours. In the early evenings, we offer three optional weekday activities per week, usually scheduled between 6:00–7:00 pm, before group dinner. These activities rotate and may include survival Chinese lessons, local sports such as ping-pong or badminton, karaoke nights, hands-on cultural workshops, neighborhood walks, and Chongqing-specific city explorations. On some days, occasional late-morning or lunchtime activities may be offered for those with more flexible schedules. Evenings & Meals Most evenings conclude with optional group dinners at local restaurants. These dinners are informal and social, offering a natural way to connect and unwind after the workday. Weekends Each weekend features two curated excursion options. One group excursion is included, while the second—typically a longer-distance or ticketed destination—is offered as an optional add-on. Weekend excursions explore nearby ancient towns, natural landscapes, hot springs, scenic river areas, and cultural landmarks around Chongqing. Participants are free to join one, both, or neither, depending on their energy and interests. Free Time & Flexibility Unstructured time is an intentional part of the program. Participants are encouraged to rest, explore independently, focus on personal projects, or simply enjoy daily routines. All activities are optional, and the retreat is designed to accommodate different work schedules, energy levels, and lengths of stay. The overall program is meant to feel like real life with support—a flexible framework that balances work, culture, connection, and personal space.
