Do you love Christmas as much as I do and want to experience the beauty of Finland? This tour will be the perfect adventure of a lifetime for you! We will start in Rovaniemi and explore the city together, do a group hike, and visit the Arktikum Museum. Also, we will let our childhood dreams come true by visiting Santa Claus Village and having a walk with reindeer! Next will be an adventurous Icebreaker cruise, where we get the chance to swim in arctic water. The trip will end in Helsinki, where we will explore the city together. Hopefully we will see the Norther lights during our stay! Of course, there is never a guarantee of the appearance of the Northern Lights, we definitely need some luck, but from February to March, it is the best time to see the Northern Lights in Finland!

We will meet in the afternoon in our accommodation in Rovaniemi and get to know each other by a nice dinner together. We will be staying in a hotel and rooms will be shared. Since there is a pool and sauna in our hotel, we can make a use out of that! Also, it's a fun adventure to taste reindeer pizza! It's a special dish here, made from the meat of reindeer.

After breakfast, we will go for a walk in winter wonderland. We will hike the Ounasvaara winter trail, as short hike that does not need any equipment. The trail winds through the forest, passes a ski area and a wooden observation tower that offers lovely views! In the afternoon, we will explore the town together. We will visit the Arktikum Museum. Arktikum is a science center and museum that lets you experience northern nature, culture, and history up close. Hopefully we will see the Norther lights during our stay! Of course, there is never a guarantee of the appearance of the Northern Lights, we definitely need some luck, but from February to March, it is the best time to see the Northern Lights in Finland.

Santa Claus Village

Have you ever wondered where your letter to Santa ended up? Right here! In the morning, we will head to the worldwide famous Santa Claus Village! Finally, my childhood dream is coming true :D We will have the whole day to explore the village and visit different huts, meet Santa or write him a letter, eat traditional cuisine and shop some gifts to bring home. Another highlight of the day, will be a reindeer encounter. We will have the chance to meet reindeer and even have a walk with them. Did you know that the Arctic Circle runs right through the Santa Claus Village? As the Arctic Circle line is marked in Santa Claus Village’s central square, you can experience something uniquely exciting here – you get to cross the magical Arctic Circle!

Kemi
Tag 4-5
After breakfast, we will take a bus to Kemi! Kemi lies within the Arctic Circle, making it an ideal location to witness the Northern Lights. Hopefully we will be able to see them :) We will walk around the city and visit the famous Snow Castle, an enormous ice fortress that is rebuilt every year, featuring stunning ice sculptures, an ice hotel, and even an ice restaurant.

Polar Explorer Icebreaker cruise terminal
Tag 5-6
Today will be adventurous! We will get picked up and drive to Sweden for an icebreaker cruise in the frozen water of the Bothnian Sea. During our stop, we will receive a dry survival suite, so if you dare, you can take a swim in the middle of the Arctic Sea! It will be definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The captain will give us a Cruise and Swim Certificate as a memorable gift. Please note that the Icebreaker cruise is not included in the price and costs 385€. If you prefer to do a different activity and skip this one, you can do so as well.

Tag 6-7
We will take a night train from Kemi to Helsinki - if available, we will get a sleeper cabin that also has a shower. Traveling during the night by train, will give us more time to explore the city! Once arrived, we drop our luggage at the hotel and explore the city together for a whole day :)

The next morning, we will have breakfast together and check out of our accommodation. If you stay longer, I can recommend some activities or sights for you to visit. Hopefully we will see each other on another trip!
