Everest-Basislager-Trekking – Überblick Das Everest-Basislager-Trekking ist eine der bekanntesten Trekkingtouren in Nepal und führt tief in die Himalaya-Region zum Fuß des Mount Everest. Die Reise beginnt in der Regel mit einem Flug nach Lukla und führt anschließend durch das Khumbu-Tal, vorbei an traditionellen Sherpa-Dörfern, buddhistischen Klöstern und beeindruckenden Berglandschaften. Während der Tour erleben die Teilnehmer spektakuläre Ausblicke auf einige der höchsten Berge der Welt, darunter der Mount Everest, Lhotse und Ama Dablam. Der Weg führt stetig bergauf und erfordert eine gute körperliche Fitness sowie Akklimatisierung an die Höhe. Die Unterkunft erfolgt meist in einfachen Teehäusern entlang der Route. Die Reise wird oft als private Tour mit kleinen Gruppen (maximal 6 Personen) durchgeführt, um eine persönlichere Betreuung und ein flexibleres Tempo zu ermöglichen. Das Trekking dauert je nach Route und Akklimatisierung etwa 12 bis 14 Tage und endet am Everest-Basislager auf rund 5.364 Metern Höhe.

Ich bin Madhav und erfahrener Trekking-Guide mit Leidenschaft für die Berge des Himalayas. Seit vielen Jahren begleite ich Reisende auf dem Everest-Basislager-Trekking und anderen Routen in Nepal. Dabei lege ich großen Wert auf Sicherheit, eine gute Akklimatisierung und ein authentisches Natur- und Kulturerlebnis. Unterkunft beim Everest-Basislager-Trekking (EBC) Während des Everest-Basislager-Trekkings übernachten die Reisenden hauptsächlich in sogenannten Teahouses (Berghütten), die entlang der Route im Khumbu-Gebiet liegen. Diese Unterkünfte sind einfach, aber funktional und bieten alles Notwendige für Trekker in großer Höhe. Die Zimmer bestehen in der Regel aus Zweibettzimmern mit einfachen Betten, Matratzen, Decken und manchmal Kissen. Heizung gibt es meist nur im Gemeinschaftsbereich, oft im Essraum, der mit einem Ofen beheizt wird. In den höheren Regionen werden die Bedingungen spartanischer, da Materialtransport schwieriger ist. Die Badezimmer sind meist gemeinschaftlich und befinden sich außerhalb der Zimmer. Warmes Wasser ist verfügbar, aber oft gegen Aufpreis und nicht immer zuverlässig, besonders in größeren Höhen. Die Teahouses bieten auch Mahlzeiten wie Dal Bhat, Nudeln, Suppen und Reisgerichte an. Der Essbereich ist gleichzeitig ein sozialer Treffpunkt für Trekker aus aller Welt. In Lukla, Namche Bazaar oder Kathmandu sind die Unterkünfte deutlich komfortabler, oft mit Hotelstandard und privaten Badezimmern. Je höher man jedoch in Richtung Everest Base Camp kommt, desto einfacher werden die Unterkünfte. Insgesamt ist die Unterkunft auf der EBC-Route einfach, aber authentisch und trägt wesentlich zum besonderen Erlebnis des Trekkings im Himalaya bei. UNESCO World Heritage Site Excursion After breakfast, a certified tour guide from the company will take you on a guided exploration of Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage Sites like: Swyambunath Stupa (Also known as the Monkey Temple) Pashupatinath Temple (Cremation site and the holiest Hindu temple in the world) Boudhanath Stupa (One of the largest stupas in Asia) Patan Durbar Square (A former Royal Palace Complex) We will have a pre-trek briefing about your EBC trek and the upcoming mountain adventure. Our team members will give you thorough information about the flights from Kathmandu to Lukla, the teahouse accommodation, Everest routes, water facilities in the mountains, and details about trekking in Nepal. Feel free to ask the informant any questions about the trekking. In the evening, a special welcome dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant is accompanied by a cultural performance showcasing local music and dance. You'll also be introduced to your trekking guide for your 15-day Everest Base Camp Trek during the dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Fly to Lukla & Trek to Phakding An early morning flight from Kathmandu takes you to the most dangerous airport in the world, Tenzing Hillary Airport (2,845 m) in Lukla. You will meet your porters at the airport in Lukla. The trek starts through the charming village of Lukla and descends towards a beautiful village in the lower alpine forests, Phakding(2,610 m). You will hike above the roaring Dudh Koshi River and cross the first suspension bridge of the EBC trek, located between Chheplung and Thadokoshi before reaching Phakding. Overnight Stay in Phakding. Flight from/to: Ramechhap Airport During the peak season March, April, May, October, and November, the flight operates from Manthali airport due to the air traffic. A tourist shuttle will transfer you to Manthali Airport(Rammechhap) at around 2 in the morning. After arriving in Manthali, you will take a flight to Lukla. This system started in 2019, due to excessive air traffic in the Kathmandu airport. Learn more about the Lukla flights.

Namche Bazar

Trek to Namche Bazaar After breakfast, we will follow the Dudh Koshi River which is a key landmark of the Everest Base Camp Trek. As you ascend you will start to witness the peaks of Thamserku (6,712 m) and Kusum Kangaru (6,367m). Today you will cross about 5-6 suspension bridges including the famous Tenzin Hillary Bridge. You will officially enter the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For lunch, we will stop at a village named Jorsalle. Fun fact: Jorsalle translates to "twin pine trees" because the area is known for its abundance of pine trees that often grow in pairs. If the weather permits, we can take a detour to Top Danda and catch a glimpse of the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest (8,848.86 m)! Finally, you'll arrive at Namche Bazaar(3,440 m), the "Gateway to Everest." Namche Bazaar is the largest Sherpa town and a crucial acclimatization stop in the Everest Base Camp Trek. This lively hub has shops selling trekking gear and local crafts. You can also find cafes with bakeries, and restaurants offering international and local cuisine. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Acclimatization in Namche Bazar Today marks an important day for acclimatization to the higher altitude. Altitude sickness is one of the crucial factors that We will hike to the Sherpa Culture Museum which showcases the ancient traditions and the lifestyle of the Khumbu region. For an extra dose of mountain magic, we will also hike to Syangboche Airport(3,780 m), one of the world's highest airports in the world. We will spend the rest of the day relaxing, exploring Namche Bazaar, and allowing your body to adjust to the thinner air before pushing towards higher altitudes.

Deboche

Tag 6-7
Trek from Namche to Debuche Village Today's trek takes you along the sides of the Dudh Koshi River reflecting the gigantic Himalayas as you descend towards Tengboche. Upon reaching Tengboche (3,860m), also known as Tengboche Tengling Monastery you’ll be greeted with the sight of the Buddhist monastery situated on the hilltop. It is a significant religious and cultural landmark on the Everest Base Camp Trek. This stop in the Everest base camp trek offers views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Mt. Everest too! The monastery is an archive of ornate wallhangings that testify to the artistic heritage of the Khumbu region. You'll also see a towering 20-foot Buddha Statue which has been a focal point of reverence for devotees and the musical instruments and colorful robes used by the resident Lamas during religious ceremonies. Overnight in Debuche. Note: If you reach Debuche ahead of time, you can ask your guide and hike up to Pangboche Village and spend the night in the teahouse. It is also one of the rest and altitude acclimatization stops in the EBC Trek.

Trek from Debuche to Dingboche Village This leg of the EBC Trek is the next altitude acclimatization spot to let your body adjust to the high altitude. As you depart after breakfast in the morning, you will witness the landscape transformation into a high-altitude desert. This unique ecosystem is a habitat for flora and fauna adapting to the harsh environment. Your trek follows the scenic Imja Tse River and potential wildlife sightings along the way! The majestic Ama Dablam's crystal-clear visibility will be a photographer's delight. Lhotse, another Himalayan giant, will proudly display its beauty throughout the day. Finally, reach will your destination for the night - Dingboche village, a popular stop for trekkers on the Everest Base Camp route. Dingboche has cafes and charming settlements which offers a chance to experience Sherpa culture firsthand. Note: For optimal acclimatization, consider staying in Pangboche the day before this trek. This allows your body more time to adjust to the increasing altitude before tackling the higher sections of the journey.

Acclimatization in Dingboche A crucial stop for most Everest Base Camp trekkers, Dingboche is dedicated to further acclimatization while experiencing mountain views. For acclimatization, we will opt for a highly rewarding hike to the Nangkartshang Viewpoint (5,060m). This Viewpoint in the Everest Base Camp Trek offers views of iconic Himalayan giants like Ama Dablam, Makalu, and the Imja Valley, perfect for capturing unforgettable photos. Even if you choose not to hike, spending a second night in Dingboche is vital for acclimatization. The extra time allows your body to adjust to the increasing altitude more effectively and further reduces the risk of altitude sickness ensuring a safer and more enjoyable trek towards Lobuche. After your optional hike or simply enjoying the serene atmosphere of Dingboche, unwind in cozy teahouses and explore the village's unique Sherpa culture. Note: Nangkartshang Viewpoint is an optional activity. Listen to your body and choose the option that best suits your fitness level and acclimatization needs.

Lobuche

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche Today we will trek to Lobuche, a high-altitude village known for its stunning mountain scenery and extreme cold temperatures. The trail continues alongside the Khumbu Glacier's lateral moraine with challenging weather conditions so dress in layers for optimal comfort. Throughout the trek, keep your eyes peeled for display of Himalayan giants like Everest (Sagarmatha) at 8,848 meters (29,029 ft), Nuptse at 8,596 meters (28,169 ft), Lhotse at 8,516 meters (27,939 ft), Ama Dablam at 6,812 meters (22,349 ft), Pumori “Daughter of Everest" at 7,161 meters (23,494 ft), Thamserku at 6,712 meters (22,021 ft), and Kantega at 6,782 meters (22,248 ft). During the monsoon season (June-August), you might encounter temporary yak herder settlements along the trail. These yak houses, traditionally built with stone and wood, provide shelter for herders as they care for their yaks grazing on the slopes. We will stop by a small settlement Thukla for lunch. Here, you'll encounter the poignant Sherpa Memorial erected in memory of climbers who lost their lives while pursuing their Himalayan dreams. Many memorials include personal photographs, prayer flags, and heartfelt messages from loved ones. Pay your respects and learn more about the courage and resilience of the Sherpa people who play a vital role in Everest expeditions. Overnight in Lobuche

Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp & Stay in Gorakshep Today is the highest point of your Everest Base Camp trek! We will walk along the mesmerizing landscape of ice formations and towering crevasses of the Khumbu Glacier. This constantly shifting landscape of ice seracs and crevasses is a powerful reminder of the forces at play in the Himalayas. After conquering the Khumbu Glacier, you'll reach your ultimate goal - Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5,364 meters! Standing at the foot of the world's highest mountain is a testament to your physical and mental strength. If you're trekking during spring, you might encounter a bustling scene at Base Camp. You can witness expedition teams preparing for their summit attempts, adding another layer of excitement and a glimpse into the world of professional mountaineering. After soaking up the achievement of reaching Everest Base Camp, you will return to Gorak Shep. The roundtrip typically takes about 4 hours. Back at Gorak Shep, celebrate your incredible accomplishment with fellow trekkers. Share stories, savor a delicious meal, and rest up for your next adventure. Overnight in Gorakshep. Additional Tips: Start your hike early in the morning to avoid the heat and crowds (if applicable). Layer your clothes appropriately as temperatures can fluctuate significantly throughout the day. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Pace yourself and listen to your body during the challenging hike. Be respectful of the fragile environment and leave no trace behind

Hike to Kalapatthar & Descent to Pheriche This morning, set your alarm for an early rise (around 4 am) to hike to Kalapaththar (5,545m). This small peak might require some effort, but the reward is beyond imagination. The summit of Kalapaththar is the most beautiful viewpoint in the Everest Base Camp Trek. You will see the majestic Mount Everest directly ahead, alongside Nuptse, Pumori, Lhotse, Chagatse, and countless other Himalayan giants. You can take pictures of Mt. Everest to cherish forever. After soaking in the unforgettable mountain views from Kalapaththar, descend back to Gorak Shep for a well-deserved hot breakfast. Following breakfast, you will trek down to Pheriche, a lower-altitude village (4,280m).
