Cape Winelands Tours from Cape Town, South Africa 🍷

Hello travellers! Welcome to my trip. This will be a 3 day-curated trip to explore the Cape Winelands in Durbanville, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. First, let me tell you about me! My name is Dineo, I am a South African based in Cape Town. I am a wine lover so if you are also into wine this will be fun but also if you are not that is also fine. I enjoy solo travelling and meeting new people. Looking for: I am looking for other female travellers looking to explore the Cape Winelands and might need guidance on navigating these wine estates. About the trip: 📍 On Day 1 - First stop: We will visit Nitida which is situated in the heart of the Durbanville Wine Valley. This is a family-owned and operated wine cellar. Their method is always one of minimal intervention and allowing the wines to show off their microclimate. - Second Stop: We will visit Canto Boutique Wines also within the Durbanville Wine Valley. The farm is famous for its Cap Classique (bubbles) and invites guests to enjoy their signature Cap Classique & Macaron pairing in their state-of-the-art tasting center, or outside overlooking the expansive lawns facing towards the mountains of Stellenbosch. - Third Stop: Lunch at De Eetkamer (Stellenbosch) The restaurant is located in a renovated old stable - the reason for its long rectangular shape. They serve small plates in an array of global flavours. The idea is to have people share food, the way it's intended to be at any family dining room table. - Fourth Stop:  Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden (Stellenbosch) In this garden of private myth, the artist explores the Jungian notion of ‘the wilderness within’. More than 60 sculptures constituting a comprehensive record of his artistic development thus far have been carefully sited along 4 km of paths. - Fifth Stop: Avemore Manor House Airbnb TBC (Check in at accommodation 1) (Stellenbosch) 🛏️ ABOUT THE FIRST ACCOMMODATION Every space delivers timeless décor in the Manor home here the clock is slower than the rest of the world, and you are allowed to meander through the Olive grove, relax at the pool, and watch the sunset with the most spectacular view in Stellenbosch. Create the perfect dinners in the spacious fully equipped kitchen with BBQ as well as wood-fired pizza in the kitchen. 📍 On Day 2: Stellenbosch/Franschoek - First Stop: Hidden Valley Wines, vineyards, situated on the northern slopes of the Helderberg Mountains in Stellenbosch.They produce table olives (Nocellara del Belice and Calamata) as well as olives for pressing olive oil. - Second Stop: Glenelly Estate. The Glass Collection Tasting includes 4 premium single-varietal wines, celebrating May de Lencquesaing’s lifelong passion for the art of glassmaking. - Third Stop: Tokara Wine Estate a family-owned vineyard that derives its name from the founders’ children, Thomas and Kara. - Fourth Stop: Delaire Graff Estate which offers a range of wine-tasting experiences as well. - Fifth Stop: Plaisir Estate The Merle Manor House Hotel (check-in at accommodation 2 ) (Franschhoek) 🛏️ ABOUT THE SECOND ACCOMMODATION: The Merle Manor House consists of three spacious, stylish bedrooms and elegantly finished on-suite bathrooms, which make it ideal for a group or family getaway. Whatever the weather the space can be enjoyed – with a terrace complete with a braai for hotter months and a fire for the Cape winter. Soft furnishings and a spacious open-plan living room make it the ideal spot for a tranquil and relaxing break. Relax on the terrace, light the braai and sip some wine. 📍 Day 3: Franschhoek - First Stop: Plaisir Estate, situated at the foot of Simonsberg Mountain, between Paarl and Franschhoek. It is one of the largest wine farms in the Western Cape at 974 hectares, with some 400 hectares under vine. - Second Stop: Franschhoek Curated Wine Tram Experience. Designed for true wine lovers and foodies, the Curated Wine Experience is a real treat for the senses! A knowledgeable wine expert accompanies you to a selection of wine estates for premium tastings and pairings, a cellar & vineyard tour, and a specially curated three-course lunch. Discover your love for food and wine in a new light. - Third Stop: drive back to the city centre and conclusion of the tour Transport: We will be travelling in my mini cooper which can comfortably fit 4 individuals and comes with air conditioning and a lovely playlist for the road.
