DAY ONE: Sunday - Arrival & Welcome Sunset Dinner Cruise Arrive at Cairns Airport (or a nearby hotel if arriving earlier, when arranged in advance) for pickup at 1:00 PM. We'll drive approximately 1 hour north along one of Australia's most scenic coastal roads to Port Douglas.

In the early evening, we'll head out for our welcome experience: a sunset river cruise along Dickson Inlet with dinner included. As the sun sinks toward the Pacific, painting the sky in tropical hues, we'll toast to the week ahead, get to know each other, and take in the beautiful views of Port Douglas from the water.

We will head back to the townhouse for the night after the 2-hour dinner + sunset cruise. DAY TWO: Monday - Scenic Coastal Drive, Skyrail, Kuranda & Scenic Railway We will start the morning with breakfast and coffee before starting our drive north.

Late Morning: We'll take a scenic coastal drive to Freshwater, where we'll board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for a breathtaking glide above the Daintree Rainforest canopy. The 7.5-kilometer journey offers spectacular aerial views of the ancient forest, waterfalls, and distant coastline.

Kuranda

Afternoon: Arriving in Kuranda, we'll visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary (included in your 4 Park Pass): the largest butterfly flight aviary in Australia, home to over 1,500 tropical butterflies. Walk through lush gardens as vibrant Ulysses butterflies and Cairns Birdwings flutter around you. We'll enjoy lunch at the famous Kuranda Markets (own expense), browsing the eclectic stalls of handmade goods, local produce, and unique treasures. Then we'll visit Barron Falls Lookout for dramatic views of the falls cascading into the gorge below.

Late Afternoon: Board the Kuranda Scenic Railway for a Gold Class journey back to Freshwaterโone of the world's most spectacular train rides. Your Gold Class experience includes: - Tropical welcome drinks served onboard at Kuranda Station - Dedicated attendant service - Individual lounge-style seating in handcrafted Victorian-inspired carriages - Souvenir gift pack and trip fan guide - Onboard audio commentary - Locally sourced appetizers and beverages Once back in Freshwater, we will begin the journey back to Port Douglas.

Arrive back at the townhouse shortly after 5:00 PM. DAY THREE: Tuesday - Free Morning + Optional Helicopter Flight + Film Night Morning: A free morning to sleep in, relax by the pool, take a walk on Four Mile Beach, or revisit Wildlife Habitat. Those wishing to join the Optional Helicopter flight will leave in the late morning.

Optional Late Morning โ Scenic Great Barrier Reef Helicopter Flight: Experience the reef and rainforest from a perspective few ever see: soaring above in a helicopter. 30-Minute Flight ($350): Fly over Four Mile Beach and Port Douglas, then head out over the reef to Batt Reef, flying low to spot stingrays, turtles, manta rays, sharks, dugongs, dolphins, and whales. Take in distant views of Snapper Island, Cape Tribulation, and the Daintree Rainforest. 60-Minute Flight ($685): Everything above, plus extended aerial views of the Daintree Rainforest, Mossman Gorge, and the town of Mossman for a complete reef-and-rainforest experience from above. Both flights include pilot commentary and a pre-flight safety briefing. Check-in at Nautilus Aviation office at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort. Minimum 2 guests required.

Afternoon: Return to the townhouse for a free afternoon. Relax on the beach, read, explore, or do nothing at all. Evening: We'll gather for a curated Australian film viewing followed by a fun group discussion. DAY FIVE: Wednesday - Outer Reef Mackay Sail & Snorkel Adventure (Included) An early breakfast, then we're off to the marina for a full-day sailing adventure to the Outer Great Barrier Reef.

Sleep in if you need it, take a leisurely walk on Four Mile Beach, explore Port Douglas village, or simply float in the pool.

Late Afternoon: We'll meet at the townhouse and head to Rex Smeal Park: a beautiful waterfront park overlooking Dickson Inlet with sweeping views of the water, boats, and mountains. Mossman Gorge โ Welcome to Country & Smoke Ceremony (2 hours): We begin at Mossman Gorge, a sacred site for the Kuku Yalanji people, Traditional Custodians of the Daintree region whose connection to this land spans over 50,000 years. An experienced Kuku Yalanji guide will conduct a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoke Ceremony: a powerful, spiritual welcome to their homeland. This is a privilege and a highlight of the trip. Lake Barrine Circuit Track

Lake Barrine Circuit Hike (5km, approximately 2 hours): A gentle loop walk through World Heritage rainforest along the shores of a serene volcanic crater lake. The track winds past towering kauri pines (some over 1,000 years old), lush ferns, and peaceful shoreline views. Keep an eye out for musky rat-kangaroos, turtles, and abundant birdlife. This is an easy, flat walk suitable for all fitness levels. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water and insect repellent. If you'd prefer to skip the hike, you're welcome to relax at the Lake Barrine Teahouse instead.

Optional: Mt Uncle Distillery OR Atherton Chinatown: Choose your own afternoon adventure: Mt Uncle Distillery: Visit the Tablelands' award-winning distillery for a look around, with an optional Guided Distillery Tasting ($14) to sample their premium whisky, rum, vodka, and unique liqueurs. Atherton Chinatown: Explore this fascinating heritage site preserving the story of Chinese migrants who came during the tin mining boom, including the restored Hou Wang Temple. We'll drive back to Port Douglas around 5:30 PM.

We will enjoy a free evening at the townhouse once back. DAY EIGHT: Sunday - Departure Enjoy a final tropical breakfast and free time to pack and prepare. Take a last dip in the pool or a final walk on Four Mile Beach. Checkout is by 12:00 PM. Transportation will be provided to Cairns Airport. Safe travels, and carry the magic of the reef and rainforest with you. ๐ชธ
