Über mich

Hi! I'm Ana Terra, a Brazilian travel creator focused on Indigenous-led and conscious experiences. I design trips that honour our planet, uplift local communities, and create meaningful cultural exchange. I've lived and worked alongside Indigenous groups, collaborated on social and environmental projects, and I write about ethical tourism and science-based travel on my blog, Hdden Variable. My goal? To guide travellers who want more than a holiday, people seeking to learn, connect, and leave a positive footprint wherever they go. If you believe travel can be transformative (for you and the places you visit), join my trip. Let's make travelling a movement rather than an escape. 💛🌎

In the past, my path has been anything but linear, but always guided by purpose! I grew up in the hood in Brazil, worked as a teacher, became a high-performing salesperson, lived in the Netherlands for 3 months and later moved to the UK, where I worked as an interpreter for the police, health services, and social departments for 6 years. Eventually, my passion for people and cultures led me back to my home country, where I lived in the Xingu Territory to learn directly from Indigenous communities and collaborate with their projects under their guidance.
Currently, I live in Phuket, Thailand, and I've been creating content that bridges science, travel, and Indigenous knowledge while developing projects that support communities in practical, respectful ways. I also created my website from scratch in English and Portuguese, and have been finding ways to expand my connections with natives from Ecuador, Tanzania and Indonesia.
My favourite trip was to the Xingu Indigenous Territory. It wasn't glamorous. Actually, it was physically exhausting, but it completely changed how I see travel, community, and responsibility. Living with the community, listening to their stories, and understanding their worldview made me realise that travelling can be a tool for cultural exchange and preservation, not just entertainment. Nothing has shaped me more deeply.
Science has already proven that travelling can teach you empathy and broaden your horizons to new cultures and lifestyles. I travel because the world is beautiful and home to interesting people. And because there's plenty we can do to preserve our planet in fun and interesting ways. Seeing our reality with a more positive mentality is what makes us alive and fulfilled!
