It feels like this summer has been a long time coming, and we’re excited for a season full of adventures. Of course, summer’s not complete with at least a few trips to the beach. Whether you’re a beach bum and like to catch the sun rays or would rather be out on the water doing water sports, we’ve got some tips on how to make your beach vacation dreams come true!
Step 1: Find your kind of beach
There’s around 620,000 km’s of coastline in the world, so you’ll really need to take into consideration where you want to go. Of course, not all of this coastline is made for a beach getaway, but you get it… there are many beaches to choose from. Luckily, we’ve compiled a list of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. Some of the beaches are not exactly made for swimming and water sports under the summer sun, but you’ll find a few goodies for just that. If you’re thinking on a country level, some of the best picks for beaches include: Greece, Australia, Turkey, Italy, Indonesia, Hawaii, or French Polynesia. There are also some things to keep in mind while choosing your beach in your beach destination, such as:
- What activities does the beach offer?
- Is the beach equipped with food stands or drink bars, for example, or should you pack your own food?
- Accessibility: is the beach easy to get to?

Step 2: Pick your accommodation wisely
If you’re going on a beach vacation, you never want the beach to be too far away. Step 3: Pack smart!
A bottle of sunscreen or a hat might end up costing a lot at a beach stand, so don’t forget to pack the essentials. Here’s a quick recap of what to take along (at least):
- The ‘protect yourself from the sun set’: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, lip chap (SPF approved)
- The ‘beach set’: swimsuit, sandals, tank tops, shorts, beach cover-up, comfortable + lose clothing, beach blanket, towel, dry bag
- The ‘tech set’: power bank, headphones
If you end up spending a lot of time on the beach, it’s best to pack light! You’ll thank yourself for not carrying around too much stuff. Plus, it’s more sustainable! Step 4: Time it right
It just ain’t a beach vacation if it’s cold outside. So, research what the warm months in your destination are! Tip: usually it’s best to go just before and just after peak time, so you avoid the crowds but still get to bask in the sun. Plus, it’s usually not even enjoyable if it’s too hot outside. Make sure to check public holidays in the country as well, you’ll be sure to find locals enjoying their days off, especially in the summertime!
