Westafrica

Hi, I'm Maarten, a Belgian traveler, adventurer and dreamer. I've been to over 85 countries and hope to visit every country on the planet. I would love to take you along to discover some new countries. I'm sharing my trip to make new friends and share the experience with fellow travelers. Activities will be based on the traveller's preferences. Two weeks traveling through West Africa, backpacking and exploring the local life. We start in Conakry, the capital of Guinea, before flying to Bissau in Guinea-Bissau. After that, we go over land, through Senegal, to Banjul in Gambia. Most accommodation is fixed, but we go with the flow. I enjoy walking in town and seeing where this leads us, with a few trips out of the city, for example, to some islands or waterfalls. Accommodation is mixed with a comfortable luxury hotel in Guinea and a local hostel in Bissau, but always safe and clean with good reviews. Everyone will have their own room and privacy. Bathroom might be shared in some cases. The price includes all accommodation and transport (except for flights before and after the trip). Please note that the journey will start in Guinea and end in Gambia. I can help with the visa request and finding the best flights to reach Guinea. Looking forward to have you on the trip. Conakry

Tag 1-5

Starting off in Conakry, the capital of Guinea. We'll explore the city and might get out to visit some waterfalls and islands. You are free to visit the city on your own rhythm or stick to the group, however you feel like.

Dakar

Tag 5-6

We are spending one night near Dakar for the short layover on our way to Guinea-Bissau. We won't have much time to visit a lot, but we'll stay near the coastline in a decent hotel with a swimming pool.

Bissau

Tag 6-10

We'll sleep in a local hostel, which is more basic but clean and with good reviews. Everyone has a private room and their own privacy. We'll explore the city as we like and might visit some of the islands near Bissau.

Banjul

Tag 10-15

We'll try to go overland from Bissau to Gambia, passing through Sénégal. I'm experienced in this, so don't worry, we'll find a way. With many people on a bus, it might be uncomfortable because that's how local transport is. If possible, we'll try to avoid this, of course. We might spend a night in Sénégal, on the little stretch between Guinea-Bissau and Gambia. We'll end the trip in Gambia, where we'll stay at a nice place with a swimming pool (to be decided).
