Road Trip in the country of Georgia! 🚘🇬🇪

Spring will just barely be making its first appearances in Georgia - at least at the bottom of the mountains-and it is time to enjoy! Georgia is a country rich in history with influences from Mongolian, Persian, Ottoman empires, as well as being the most prosperous country of the former Soviet Union. It is also home to some beautiful mountain peaks and breathtaking scenery all year round. And let's not forget wine. This small country of the Caucus region has the most diverse selection of grapes in the world, which makes for a good choice of wine for dinner and wine tasting. Our adventures in Georgia will begin with the capital of Tbilisi, where we will see Mtasminda, walk down the famous Rustaveli Avenue, churches, see the old city, and a fortress from the fourth century. 📍 What's the plan? We will spend the weekend in the wine region Khaketi. We will stop in Signaghi, the city of love, on the way to our guesthouse. When we are at the guesthouse, we will be welcomed by a Georgian family and have Georgian cooking master classes and wine and chacha tastings. We will also visit nearby city Telavi. We will spend a night in Telavi before heading back to Tbilisi. Once we are back in Tbilisi, we will take a day trip to David Gareji Monestary. Then we will go to Kazbegi where we will see an old village and holy Trinity Church. Also get a view of Mt. Khazbek. On the way to Kazbegi, we will stop at a restaurant that is over 100 years old. Oh, the stories that restaurant could tell! We will have a last night in Tbilisi before parting ways the next day. 🏠 Accommodation in Tbilisi will be in guesthouse or hotel.
