Join me on a one-week cultural journey through Thailand. From the golden temples and river views of Bangkok to the calm mountain charm of Chiang Mai. I’ll arrive in Bangkok on November 1, and the trip officially starts that day. We’ll travel together by day train to Chiang Mai, explore Doi Suthep, local markets, and fly back to Bangkok on November 6 for our last evening before everyone takes their own return flight on November 7. ✈️ A perfect mix of culture, photography, street food & authentic city life! Relaxed, well-planned, and full of local highlights. 📸🌅
Hi, I’m Irina, living in Switzerland. Part coffee addict, part photographer, and always chasing beautiful light and culture around the world. For me, traveling isn’t about rushing from sight to sight, but about slowing down, observing, and capturing authentic moments. If you’re easy-going, curious, and appreciate well-planned trips with a local touch — you’ll fit right in. 🌿✨
We’ll stay in comfortable, centrally located hotels in both Bangkok and Chiang Mai, chosen for their good location, cleanliness, and safety. All accommodations are close to main attractions, local restaurants, and public transport, making it easy to explore the cities. Rooms will be twin or double, separated by gender when possible. Breakfast is usually included, and the focus is on local charm, comfort, and convenience rather than luxury, providing a practical base for active days and relaxed evenings.

Reiseverlauf
1
Der Große Palast
Tag 1
The Grand Palace is Bangkok’s most impressive landmark and a must-see for anyone visiting Thailand. Built in 1782, it was once home to the Thai King and the royal court. The complex shines with golden rooftops, detailed wall paintings, and the sacred Emerald Buddha. Arrive early in the morning to enjoy the beauty and calm before the crowds arrive.
2
Wat Pho
Tag 1-2
Wat Pho, also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is one of Bangkok’s oldest and largest temples. It houses a 46-meter-long golden Buddha and hundreds of smaller statues in peaceful courtyards. You can also experience a traditional Thai massage here, as the temple is considered the birthplace of this ancient healing art.
3
Wat Arun
Tag 2
Wat Arun, the Temple of the Dawn, sits on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. Its central tower, decorated with colorful porcelain, sparkles beautifully in the sunlight. It’s especially magical during sunset when the sky turns golden and the temple lights up. Take the small ferry across the river to enjoy the best view of its stunning silhouette.
4
River Park ICONSIAM
Tag 2-3
End the day with Bangkok’s skyline views — either from one of the famous rooftop bars like Mahanakhon SkyBar or at ICONSIAM by the river. Watch the sun set over the city while the lights come alive and enjoy a relaxing evening with good food, live music, or a cocktail overlooking the Chao Phraya.
5
Chiang Mai
Tag 3
Experience Thailand’s countryside from the window of a scenic day train. The six-hour ride from Bangkok to Chiang Mai passes through rice fields, small villages, and green hills. It’s a relaxing and authentic way to travel, giving you a glimpse of daily life outside the big cities. The train is comfortable, air-conditioned, and ideal for travelers who enjoy slow, mindful journeys.
6
Wat Phra Singh
Tag 3-4
Located in the heart of Chiang Mai’s Old City, Wat Phra Singh is one of the most beautiful temples in Northern Thailand. Its elegant Lanna-style architecture and detailed wood carvings reflect the city’s cultural roots. The temple is still active today, with monks walking through the courtyards — a peaceful and spiritual place to start exploring Chiang Mai.
7
Wat Chedi Luang
Tag 4
Wat Chedi Luang, once home to the Emerald Buddha, is an ancient temple dating back to the 14th century. Its massive brick chedi was partially destroyed by an earthquake, giving it a unique and atmospheric charm. Visitors can stroll through the temple grounds, hear monks chanting, and feel the timeless beauty of Northern Thai culture.
8
Doi Suthep
Tag 4-5
High above the city, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is the most famous temple in Chiang Mai and a true highlight. After a scenic drive up the mountain, you’ll climb a stairway guarded by colorful naga statues. The golden stupa shines under the sunlight, and from the terrace you get a breathtaking view of the city below — especially beautiful at sunset.
9
Nationalpark Doi Inthanon
Tag 5
Known as the “Roof of Thailand,” Doi Inthanon is the country’s highest mountain and a paradise for nature lovers. The park features misty forests, waterfalls, and the King and Queen Pagodas with panoramic mountain views. It’s an ideal day trip to escape the city heat and experience a cooler, greener side of Thailand.
10
Chiang Mai Night Bazaar
Tag 5-6
The Night Bazaar is one of Chiang Mai’s most vibrant evening spots. You’ll find handmade crafts, colorful fabrics, and local street food stalls with friendly vendors. The market is lively but relaxed — perfect for picking up souvenirs or just enjoying the atmosphere. Live music and cafés nearby make it a fun place to spend your evening.
11
Asiatique The Riverfront
Tag 6-7
Spend your final evening by the river at Asiatique, a large open-air market and entertainment area. Walk along the promenade, shop for last-minute souvenirs, or enjoy dinner with a view of Bangkok’s sparkling skyline. The atmosphere is relaxed and lively, making it the perfect way to end your trip before flying home the next day.
