With this trip, we are going to the region of Senegambia on the western coast of Africa! We will be lodging in the southwest area of this region in the Gambia in ecolodges very close to the Atlantic Ocean by the west and on the south very close to the frontier, that separates the two countries, Gambia and Senegal. Our lodges are located very close to the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean on the west and also close to the southern border of Senegal where u have the Cassamance river flowing along the strips of the Frontier. This Will be our base for the first 3 days of the trip, after which we will cross the border to get into the southern province of Senegal, Cassamance for another 2 days. For 4 to 5 days, we will have the opportunity to explore the real eco sociocultural lifestyle that is totally different and fascinating. This part of It is known for all It has to offer in rich and untouched natural and wildlife beauty.
I am a Gambian, who has worked in the Gambia as a tour guide for 7 years, criss-crossing tourist around the Senegal region. I later travelled to Europe and stayed for several years in Spain. There I embarked on various courses relating to tourism such as hotel receptionist, tourism marketing and event creation. Now am back home in the Gambia with this tour and want to show you the Senegambia region!
Our accommodation: We will be staying in eco-lodges built right in the middle of eco-friendly and nature fascinating environments of the south-west Gambia and Senegal. The accommodations are round huts with grass top roofing. They are equipped with modern toilet facilities and open areas with trees and plants around each room. You will have the chance to relax on your chairs by your veranda and enjoy the natural relaxation the cool environments around the eco lodges have to offer. Footsteps Eco Lodge, The Gambia
Tag 1-3
This is our lodging destination where on the first day in the morning we will visit the eco sites around the south Gambia with some hours of camping in the dense eco sites of Siffoe ecolodge. We will explore during these first visits the wildlife and birds richness in this area and will also visit fishing sites, money parks, local traditional markets and some family sites visits. On the second day we go further up north in the country to visits more sites and the main zoo of the country with special lunch at a restaurant hanging over the tributaries of the river. We leave for Senegal in the evening of the second day.

Kafountine
Tag 3-4
We will be lodged on this 3rd night in an ecolodge in Senegal south in Kafountine settlement. Here Will have the chance to visits various parks and eco sites to explore the rich birds and animal life of this region. We will be able to cruise the River in exploration of. We will also have short village sites visits.

Tendaba
Tag 4-6
We will spend the night of the 5th day in this fascinating nature camp of the Gambia very close to the Gambia River and have entertainment at night by the bar on the riverside with buffet dinner. On day 6 we will visit the kiang west national park to see wildlife in the evening and in the morning we go on 2 hours river cruise with canoes to explore.
Day 7 will see go to a lodge at Fatalla Wildlife Reserve in Senegal. We will spend two nights around Fatalla to have chance to make various visits to these sites and do various activities according to individual choices.

Jufureh
Tag 7-9
Here Will be on the 8th night of the trip and the following we will visit Jufueee Slavery History Village, an agricultural island and some stops along the way as we head to Barra to cross the river with the local ferry and back to our original lodge in Gunjur. We spend the night on the 9th day of the trip here.

ECO -BAY /Lodge & Restaurant
Tag 9-10
The last day, day 10 Will be a barbecue grill on a very quiet part of the beach of the Atlantic followed by a traditional cultural drumming and dancing near open fire in the lodge as closing of the trip.
