Are you a backpacker? Are you fine with hostels? Do you want to share an incredible experience and make new friends? Then, come and immerse yourself in the beauty of the South Island of New Zealand. With this road trip, we will cover Wanaka, Te Anau, and Queenstown. Boat trips, hiking, and biking are on the program.

About me: Hi, Emelyne here! I'm a 30-year-old French woman and I've been living in NZ for over 7 months now and would love to share my trip with you. For over 2 years, I have been travelling the world on a budget and I cannot stop. I visited 43 countries so far. I'm into diving, hiking (slow pace), and singing (maybe we could organize a Karaoke night?). I'm just a happy person who loves meeting new people, and experience new things. About our road trip : I will be driving us around so you can relax and enjoy the incredible landscape. This also gives us more freedom to go our own pace and stop whenever we want to. I'm looking for tripMates who are fun, happy to bicycle ( don't worry you can get an E-bike) hike. If you love the Lord of the Rings, you should recognize a few places the movies were shot. If not, the landscape will still take your breathe away.

Accommodation: We will be staying in 3 different hostels. It will mainly be bunk beds (3 nights) and a private room with single beds (2 nights). I've tried to keep it as cheap as possible. They all are well rated and have great reviews. Breakfast is not included, but we have access to the kitchen if we want to cook. Queenstown

Tag 1

I will come and pick you up from Queenstown (please try to arrive before 3 pm) and we will make our way to Wanaka (1-hour drive). Don't worry, we will come back and explore the city at the end of our trip together.

Wānaka

Tag 1-3

This beautiful town is famous for its lakes, mountains and numerous adventures. To celebrate the start of our trip, we will go on a boat cruise on lake Wanaka where we will be served a cheeseboard and beverage (included in the price). Later on, we will decide where we want to eat. The next day, after breakfast (not included) we will be going on an E-bike tour which should last about 4h (included in the price). Depending on what time we finish, you will have the option to go kayaking or paddling (extra 35 dollars per person). After checking out, we will be heading to our next stop: Te Anau.

Te Anau

Tag 3-5

Considered as one of the loveliest towns in New Zealand, Te Anau is the perfect stop to visit Milford Sound. When we arrive, we will have plenty of time to explore the town before going to the glowworm caves (included in the price). Get ready as day 4 will be the day we go to Milford Sound for the day. (included in the price) On day 5, after checking out, we will take a boat taxi (included in the price) to begin our hike (about 2h30) from Brod Bay back to town. We will decide at that time if we want to bring a picnic or if we want to have lunch before heading back to Queenstown.

Queenstown

Tag 5-6

Queenstown has so much to offer, from adrenaline (bungee jump) to peaceful lakes. On day 5, we will be taking altitude to get a panoramic view of the city and its landscape with the gondola (included in the price). If you want to, you can also go down on the luge (extra 20 dollars not included). Day 6, it is time to say goodbye already. So is day is for you. You decide what you want to do before I take you back to the airport or bus station.
