Explore Cinque Terre: Food, Culture, Pesto!

We’ll be exploring these 5 little villages by the train that runs through them. There is also an option to hike between villages, you can join me for one of the easier hikes which takes about 30 minutes to an hour or take the train and we can all meet at the next village. In Riomaggiore, the farthest east of the villages, we will make a tour of the small center and castle which offer a great view over the village. Here we will also take a cooking class where we will make the traditional Ligurian pesto and drink some nice wine with good company! Manarola is the next village which can be reached by a small hike or train here we will explore the center, visit the church of San Lorenzo and Bastion of Manarola. The next village we will visit will be Corniglia, the smallest of the villages. Also reachable by a small hike or train. Corniglia is on top of a panoramic hilltop, offering fantastic views. Here we will visit the church of San Pietro and stroll through the center. Next we will explore Vernazza where we will visit the Doria castle and the church of Santa Margherita di Antiochia as well as exploring the center, of course! The last of the villages we will visit is Monterosso, the largest of the Cinque Terre. Here we will visit the church of San Francisco, the Borgo Antico, the Torre Aurora and Fegina beach. Since Monterosso is the largest village we will explore the town as well, finding beautiful views and amazing places. Does this sound like your type of adventure? About the accommodation: We will be staying in Levanto, a local, pretty, small beach town only a 4 minute train from Monterosso al Mare. The apartment is a 5 minute walk from the train station and 15 minute walk from the town center and beach. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 rooms with 1 double bed and 1 room with 2 single beds.
