We'll start our journey in the heart of downtown Vancouver! In the morning, we'll begin our journey by introducing ourselves to each other and discussing the week's itinerary, learning goals and expectations. After settling in our rooms, we'll meet again for cocktails, wine, local cheese platters, and appetizers made by local Indigenous chefs with authentic recipes handed down to them from their grandmothers.

Stanley Park

Tag 2-3
Today we'll take a walking tour through Vancouver to visit the world-famous Stanley Park, with its collection of totem poles and carvings representing several First Nations cultures of Coastal British Columbia nestled between the giant centuries-old Red Cedar and Douglas Fir trees. We will listen to a local Indigenous guide share with us ancient ecological practices for harvesting food, medicine and technology, contemporary history and Indigenous ways of living. Then we'll take a walk on the Seawall to Third Beach and Lost Lagoon, all under the gaze of Vancouver's iconic and picturesque skyline. We will end the day with a walk to the historic Sylvia Hotel for Happy Hour on English Bay. Travellers will then be free to choose their own adventure for the evening...may we suggest exploring Vancouver's West End. Maybe walk from Granville Street to Gastown or Denman and Davie Streets? Nearby Robson Street is also well known for high-end shopping (as is Alberni Street). Or just hang around at Sunset beach in front of the Sylvia to enjoy the evening.
