If you are looking for something particularly unique to do during that time of year, you've just found the perfect getaway for the holidays! This is not your average trip, so if you enjoy being on the edge of your comfort zone, this is the trip for you. Lebanon is a small country packed with sights and landscape of great variety. There’s winter and summer in one day (ski Mount Lebanon in the morning, chill at the Mediterranean beaches in the afternoon), there’s the bustling nightlife in Beirut, there’s jaw dropping remnants of ancient Phoenicia and Imperial Rome, there’s nectar from a number of wineries in the Bekaa Valley, and there’s excellent hiking in spectacular nature. About me: I’m Joe, 26 years old, living in Paris and originally from Lebanon. I already participated in a JoinMyTrip trip last year and found it to be really cool. I'm now trying to do it from the other side of the equation, i.e. the organization side. What's included? - Accommodation (Privatized Hotel & Private Rooms): We'll stay in a hotel in a city called Aley, it's 15 km away from the capital city Beirut. This hotel is usually closed during the year, and opens only in the summer. However, I spoke to the owner, and he's willing to open it up for us if we're at least 8 people and if I take care of the operational side (buying fuel for electricity, buying electric heaters, Internet subscription, etc. etc. all of this is included in the price). - Pick-up and drop-off from the airport - Cleaning services if needed Additional costs: - Visa in case you need one (depending on your passport) - Personal expenses for food, souvenirs etc. - Car rentals For more info, read the descriptions below and text me. See you soon! :)

Byblos

Tag 1-2
Let's do a road trip to the beach, have lunch at some fish restaurant and walk around! What used to be a busy shipping area in the ancient times now is a quiet place, with fishing boats and yachts rhythmically jiggling in the water. While most of the people dine in the souk, we can instead have our lunch in one of the harbor restaurants. For those who want to work, you can stay in our hotel, no problem at all!

Beirut

Tag 2-3
During the day, we will spend our time working in the hotel, and then we will head into Beirut for either lunch or dinner. Those who need to get some work done can, as always, choose to remain at the hotel.

Day Trip to Jeita Grotto & Faraya. Jeita Grotto: Jeita Grotto is split into two parts; the upper with a breathtaking view of extraordinary stone that forms curtains and columns, draperies and mushrooms. A boat ride is offered at the lower grotto. It also features ropeways, train, miniature zoo, gardens and many sculptures. Faraya: Mzaar Kfardebian ski area is widely regarded as one of the most scenic and entertaining mountain resorts in Lebanon.

Cedars Of God Bsharri

Tag 6-7
We'll end our year in the great outdoors with a hike at the Cedars of God. It is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. The trail is popular for birding, hiking, and running. The Cedars of God are one of the last vestiges of the extensive forests of the Lebanon cedar, that once thrived across Mount Lebanon in ancient times. This site was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.

Nejmeh

Tag 7
Nejmeh Square is the beating center of downtown Beirut. We're going to spend New Year's Eve there. The celebrations in Nejmeh Square were named by National Geographic as one of the world's top 10 New Year's Eve parties three years ago. The event, which ran from 4:30 p.m. till 1:30 a.m., attracted almost 100,000 people.

Cafeteria Our Lady Of Lebanon

Tag 7
On the morning of our last day in Lebanon, we intend to pay a short visit to Our Lady of Lebanon before making our way back to the airport and then back home. Our Lady of Lebanon is one of the most important shrines in the world honoring Mary, Mother of Jesus. The shrine is highlighted by a huge, 15-ton bronze statue. It is 8.5 m high, and has a diameter of five meters. The Virgin Mary stretches her hands towards Beirut.
