The Faroe Islands are a nature paradise. Rich of stunning landscapes and hikes, characteristic villages and unique biodiversity. 🇫🇴🏞️ We will hop on the main islands, looking for the best hikes and spots. We will need good lungs, the right gear, and a camera for capture these unforgettable moments. 📸🥾

Shaka to everyone! 🤙🏻 I'm Francesco, 25 years old, passionate about adventurous travel, especially on islands. 🏝️ I'm a really friendly people, ready to interact with everyone in travel. My dream is to visit every country in the world and have at least one close friend in each one. I have different passions, in particular in travel I like to try new sport activities and beers🤸🏻‍♂️🍻 . Based on the number of TripMates we will sleep in a different accommodation. It will be for sure an AirBnb on the main Island. We will move around with public transports, so I will decide the location based on our needs. If necessary we will sleep some nights on other islands. Vágar

Tag 1-2

On Friday we will arrive at the airport of Vágar. We will probably arrive in the evening, so we will go directly to the apartment and maybe I can cook an Italian pasta dinner for knowing each other and prepare for the next days. We will sleep probably on this island or one of the bigger ones near Vágar.

Mykines

Tag 2-3

Mykines is the western island of Faroe Islands. We will go there by ferry from Vágar. On this island there is an important colony of puffins, the characteristic birds. Furthermore, this island offer majestic landscapes, a photogenic lighthouse and a scenografic village full of houses with grass as rooftop. Best way to start our trip.

Vidoy

Tag 3-4

From west to north-east. To reach Vidoy we will visit also the islands of Bordoy. Viðareiði is simply the northernmost settlement in the Faroe Islands. The place consists of a few farms and other buildings on a low-lying strip of farm land nestled east-west between two huge mountains. There is no definite centre structure. The population hovers around 350. Mount Enniberg (750 m) is one of the highest promontories in the world. Viðareiði is at the far end of the northernmost island in the Faroes. Klaksvík is the second largest town in the country, situated on Borðoy, closer to Tórshavn. The most popular beer on the islands, the Føroya Bjór, is brewed here. Today Klaksvík has a population of about 4,600.

Vestmanna

We will explore the Vestmanna bird cliffs and grottoes by boat excursion. Some cliffs are higher more thank 700 metre and provide safe nesting places for birds such as puffins, razorbills, guillemots and fulmars.

Tórshavn

Tag 5-6

Tórshavn is the capital of Faroe Islands. Vidarlundin í Havn is the central park, full of trees, a rarity in the rest of the island (sheeps eat the small plants). In this park there is an art gallery sorrounded in green. Kirkjubøur is a small village near the capital, with interesting church and monasteries.

Suðuroy

If the weather will be good we will reach the Suduroy island with an helicopter ride, and with a two hours ferry for returning back. The transports will be an astonishing experience itself. The lighthouse of Akraberg, Beinisvord cliff's and Asmindarstakkur are the main spots to see on the island.

Saksun

Tag 7-8

Saksun, Tjornuvik and Gjogv and Elduvik are all located in the north part of the main islands. These are typical villages with white church, the biggest waterfall of Faroe island (fossa), and the sea stacks of the Giant and the Witch.

Sørvágsvatn

Tag 8-9

Sørvágsvatn is a lake located on the island of Vágar. It is famous for his particular position. It looks like it is suspended on the ocean, creating a magnificent illusion. It is only 30 metres above the level of the sea.

Gasadalur

Tag 9

In Gasadalur is located the Mulafossur waterfall. Also the small village of Bour is only 4 km away from this attraction. We can visit these places the last day, because they are near the airport, so we can reach it easily.
