About Me! I am Sofia, 22 years old, born in San Donato di Lecce (a small village near Lecce), living in Naples for studying aeronautical sciences. I am a very active person, loving sports (especially if these implies the contact with nature like kayaking, snorkeling, climbing), cooking (my father is a chef and my grandparents are farmers, so they transfers me the culture and love for the food. I am vegan) and talking about intelligent and different topics.
You will sleep in an apartment in my hometown, in San Donato di Lecce. Its strategically position allowed me to explore both sides of the Apulia coast in short time, being exactly in the middle of the peninsula. San Donato di Lecce is a small quiet typical village of southern Italy. Here you will find typical narrow streets and buildings, old people enjoying the mild weather, fresh air and tranquillity. The position is below the main city of Salento region, Lecce, and equally distant from the east and west coast. We will sleep here, so it will be easy to explore new places every day.

Cave of Poetry

The Grotta della Poesia has been defined as one of the ten most beautiful natural pools in the world: it is a pool set in the rock characterized by an emerald and refreshing body of water. Even the waters of the coast offer a harsh and wild area capable of enchanting, D in fact, a few meters from the Grotta della Poesia there are other suggestive and surprising bays and coves, such as the Bay of 'Nfucaciucci or that of Portulignu.

Sant'Andrea

This is my favorite place for snorkeling. It is physically demanding but totally worth it. we will swim in crystal clear waters along the cliff, alongside stacks and arriving in a lovely cave. This coast is also beautiful for kayaking and trekking.

Porto Selvaggio

The trek to get to this place is magnificent. Initially the bay will be hidden by the bush. We will first reach the top of a hill with a castle and from the panorama we will see the bay to reach. Another stretch will be among the trees that will protect us from the heat, until we reach our deserved prize. A small bay away from crowded beaches.

Lecce

Lecce is the largest city in Salento. The center is set between medieval walls, with four large entrance doors. It is always pleasant to walk through its streets rich in history and scents. You can try different specialities surrounded by a city from the past.

Galatina

Italian art city with a historic center that can be defined as an open-air museum, one of the best preserved, with baroque architecture and sumptuous palaces. It is the homeland of the Lecce pasticciotto, a typical dessert made of shortcrust pastry and cream.

Otranto

Also called "Gateway to the East", it is a fascinating seaside town that has a village considered among the most beautiful in Italy, also recognized in 2010 as a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site as a Messenger of Peace. Here you can see the first sunrise of Italy and is typical to come here the first day of the year. The historic center of Otranto is a very characteristic and typical place of southern countries. Small and charming. The historic center is surrounded by walls that delimit the area making it pedestrian-friendly, so you can visit it peacefully on foot and without the chaos of cars.

Gallipoli

Gallipoli is renowned for the crystal clear waters of its sea, and for its beautiful beaches of fine sand. The views for snorkeling are also interesting, thanks to the low and easily accessible cliffs of part of its coast. The layout of the old city is very characteristic and its ancient structure is clearly visible.
