Are you spontaneous enough to say yes to a beautiful short getaway in Western Austria? The Bregenzerwald area is soooo beautiful! The entire region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and there are many things to discover! During this trip, we will choose from the activities mentioned in the itinerary, according to the weather and your personal favourites! We can go on mountains and admire views from above, do some walking and see amazing natural sights such as a waterfall, mountain lakes and a gorge (but no difficult mountain treks), visit nearby medieval city centres and art galleries, go swimming, wellness, sauna...
About me: I’m a cheerful person and can find humor in the darkest of situations, but I like serious conversations as well. I'm a translator & language trainer and can speak English, German and Dutch on native level, French and Italian on a lower level and some Arabic. I love traveling (also solo) and discovered that I am able to organise trips and bring people together. What is more wonderful than doing so in the area where I live? I can't wait to show you the beauty and hidden gems around here! Don't hesitate and join!
Accommodation: You will have a private room! We will be in an apartment in Lingenau with 4 separate bedrooms, one bathroom and a kitchen. There is a TV, free Wi-Fi, a garden and a balcony, and parking spaces. We can save money by cooking our own food, but there are also good restaurants nearby. We will share the costs for shopping, gasoline (if I drive somewhere by car) etc. Ask any question you might have in the Q&A first, or let's talk after you reserved your spot!

Lingenau, Vorarlberg
Tag 1-4
The meeting point will be the apartment in the evening. It is just outside the centre of Lingenau and easily accessible by bus. I will take that you find it or pick you up from the bus stop. We will drink tea/coffee/juice, get settled and get to know each other.

Rappenlochschlucht
Tag 4
We will go to an amazing natural gorge. First we'll take the bus to Dornbirn and to the starting point (or we can take the car). The Rappenlochschlucht is a bit of walking upwards to get to the last point, with a total ascent of 100 height metres, but if trip mates prefer, we could also take a cable car up the Karren mountain and walk our way down and back through the gorge. (This cable car is not included in the price and costs 10 Euro). It is possible to eat at the top station of the cable car, or we take a picknick with us, or go eating in the city afterwards. The city center of Dornbirn is definitely worth a visit! There is also a swimming pool with sauna, in case anybody wants.

Bezau
Tag 4
We will take the bus and go to Bezau, a cute authentic village close by. The cable car (gondola) will take us up the mountain, where we can see paragliders starting (depending on the weather). The Panorama walk will take us around in max. 2 hours, offering extraordinary views in all directions and possibly some encounters with cows. The hike is not dangerous at all, but a bit of condition is required. We will take the cable car down again, and either visit the village and eat there, or take the bus back and go to the apartment. PS: for real hikers, it is possible to add a more adventurous hike and include the Winterstaude mountain. (details on request)

Alberschwende
Tag 4
We will visit the waterfall in Alberschwende (the neighbouring village), which is a beautiful round trip. Moderate condition and good shoes is required for this tour, as the last part to reach the waterfall is pretty steep.

Quelltuff Gebiet Lingenau
Tag 4
We will do a 2-hour round walk through forest and to a river, exploring a beautiful natural monument, consisting of lime stone. It is a bit steep going up and down, but nothing dangerous. We will cross the river via a quite spectacular ropeway, and back using a real old wooden bridge. The autumn colors in the forest are a joy to the eyes.

On walking distance from our apartment, there is a pool, a gym and wellness area with various saunas. A day pass costs 19 Euro for pool and saunas, or 12 Euro for just the pool. (not included in the trip price). Fitness centre 12 Euro.

Kunsthaus Bregenz
Tag 4
Art museum / gallery, designed by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, with always interesting exhibitions. We can also stroll through the old part of Bregenz and along the Lake Constance (very picturesque), go shopping, eating... or up the Pfänder mountain to enjoy the view from the top (walking or by cable car - this one is not included in the trip price).
