Want to see hidden Viking graves? What about a mini Statue of Liberty from the place they mined the copper for the real one? Breathtaking Fjord views? Glaciers? Waterfalls? Join me and explore the west coast of Norway. You will experience the lesser known side of Norway, the hidden gems not even the locals know about! We take a trip around the stunning west coast towns and cities and the fjords and mountains surrounding them! From the seven sisters Bergen, to the wind swept rocks of Haugesund, this trip has mind-blowing scenery the whole way!
About me: I'm a British guy, living the last ten years here in Norway. I've explored a great deal of the West Coast. From hidden bunkers to Viking villages, if it's there to explore, I've probably found it! I love to explore and my thirst for knowledge will never be satisfied! I speak fluent Norwegian and can translate all the local dialects for a really in depth experience!
Accommodation info: The first thing you need to know is accommodation is not cheap here! I will arrange accommodation along the way. A mix of hotels, Airbnb and cabins (hytte) it will be room/bed sharing, although if you are uncomfortable with sharing a single room upgrade will be available, but keep in mind it will cost 100 euros more each night! If my TripMates are feeling REALLY brave, we can camp, but I must warn you, the beautiful views you wake to will make you want to never leave. Which is part of why I live here! (also it's winter now and camping is COLD!) Let me know if you have questions about the trip in the Q&A section! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Reiseverlauf
1
Bergen
Tag 1-2
To kick things off, we stay the first night in Bergen at citybox hotel, a trip up Fløyen one of the "seven sisters" for the iconic Bergen view. ⛰️The we take a trip to old Bergen, and not to mention the mandatory pictures of Bryggen. You can check out the fish market (I'm vegan so if you want vegan options we can find that too✌️) Cable car 🚠 ride up Fløyen is covered in the trip 😎 if it's warm weather we might take stoltzen, which is pretty tough, but the view is honestly breathtaking!
2
Leirvik
Tag 2-3
On our way to Haugesund we swing into Leirvik, my hometown! To see the Viking graves, hidden in a nature reserve. Depending on our time schedule, we may go see some bunkers from the second world war. Or a cave hidden in the forest by the sea a perfect spot for a picnic! here we stay ay an Airbnb right in the center of town (technically leirvik is a city, but I will always call it a town!)
3
Haugesund
Tag 3-4
A very nice old town right between Bergen and Stavanger. Haugesund is most known for its very obscure herring and jazz festival 🐟🎷🎺🎶🎵 it's also very old with a rich history as first a fishing town then later an oil town. here we stay at Hotel Saga right in the town centre haugesund has some very interesting architecture, and its pretty neat to see the industry area almost right in the town centre between the old houses.
4
Karmøy
Tag 4
We take a quick drive over the bridge to Karmøy, a very windy little island next to Haugesund, with a Viking village (although this is closed after summer there is still much to see!) We also take a trip to Visnes where they mined the copper for a certain world-famous American statue... 🗽 Then it's back on the road towards Stavanger!
5
Stavanger
Tag 4-5
Here we stay the night on one of the most beautiful cities in Norway! at a cosy little bed and breakfast. The next morning we take a trip round the town centre and see the sights of Norways most hip city. Where old fishing boats stand next to luxury yachts. Stavanger is known as "oil city" to most Norwegians. It's a rich and vibrant city full of contrasts of old and new! (My personal favourite city!)
6
Rosendal
Tag 5-6
Rosendal is a fjord town at the base of Folgafonna Glacier National Park. With breathtaking natural beauty, the contrast between mountain and fjord is something that words and pictures can never describe! Here we can take a hike up towards an awe-inspiring and very social media friendly lake, situated at the base of the Folgefonna glacier. here we stay overnight at rosendal Fjordhotel a stunning hotel right on the fjord.
7
Gudvangen
Tag 6-7
The last night takes us to gudvangen, situated on Sognfjord. This is something REALLY special, we stay overnight at gudvangen fjordhotell, which is next door to the Viking village. Here we take an in depth view of life during Viking times (they also use this place when they film Viking shows and films!) Entrance to the Viking village is included in the trip 😎 this will be an experience of a lifetime! something you will always remember! skaal!

Bergen
Tag 7
We finally arrive back in Bergen after a great few days on the road and in the forests and cities of western Norway. A nice relaxing day of good food and taking in the last sights we missed on the first days.
