Hi, guys 🤗 this time around we are going to explore the Tuscan countryside, with its lush hills, breathtaking views, ancient castles and the world's most famous wines. But first… it’s-a me, Giulia! I'm the typical Italian girl, raised on Margherita Pizza 🍕 and weird hands gestures! I love meeting new people and getting to know new cultures. Whether you are looking for a new friend, a new mum or a new mascotte, I can be the one for you 😬! Where are we staying? 🏡 I already booked a cozy, well-kept cottage in a small village perched in the Tuscan hills, Castellina in Chianti. Everyone will have their own bed and we will be divided 2 per room. The trip costs include 💰: - The accommodation (shared rooms) - Car transportation (gasoline and toll booths for the all trip) - Pisa Tower & Cathedral entrance - Wine Tasting Tour - Travel Insurance (unluckily, for now, provided only for travellers from Germany and Austria) What is not included 💸: - Flights (Nevertheless, prices to Florence from major European cities are currently very affordable, between 60 and 250 euros. They can be a little more expensive coming outside Europe.) - Lunches & Dinners - Other activities not mentioned in “The trip costs include” - Travel Insurance (except travellers from Germany and Austria) For all the Trip destinations and the activities, take a look at the "Trip Itinerary" section below✨️✨️ ❕IMPORTANT GUIDELINES:
—>It will be important for this specific trip to be lightly equipped, as we will be sharing a car with 4/5 of us, and the trunk will only be one 🤓! I suggest at the most a hiking backpack for the all load and a really small bag 🎒 for the daily explorations. —> Always bring with you some cash 💶. Italy has finally switched to mandatory card payment availability… but the old generations are still in love with their banknotes and coins, so it will be easier to buy stuff in small souvenir and food stores (which are usually the best ones to explore!). —> Dress in layers 🧥: despite its reputation as a hot country, it is not always summer in Italy! Remember to bring at least one sweater and one lightweight jacket!
—> For the first day, we will leave once you all arrive at the meeting point. At the latest we will leave by lunchtime (or soon after), so it will be essential to book a flight on the morning of May 25! The meeting point will be Florence Airport (Arrivals gate), where I will pick you up directly by car. Following, you can find a video about two of our diverse destinations: Florence and San Gimignano. You can also take a look at the breathtaking panorama of Tuscany hills! For any other question or curiosity don’t mind to send me a message here on JoinMyTrip. Can’t wait to meet you soon 🤗, Giulia *The apartments and all the activities planned may be subject to variation based on both the weather and the number of TripMates. Every change to the original plan will be notified in advance and another option/experience will be provided instead.

Reiseverlauf

Florence

Tag 1
On the first day, we will all meet at the Florence airport, where I will directly pick you up by car at Arrivals. We will leave around 1 PM, so it will be necessary to arrive on the morning of May 25. In case of flight delays or delayed bookings, we will meet directly in downtown Florence (we will decide on the specific location at the time). On this first half-day, we will explore the city center and its wonders. Such as Florence Cathedral, Piazza della Signoria, the Porcellino Fountain, Ponte Vecchio and the Lungarno, Santa Maria Novella and its fantastic secret pharmacy.
2

Castellina in Chianti

Tag 1-4
Located between the influential and powerful Renaissance city par excellence -Florence- and Siena, Castellina presents itself as the ideal place for those visiting Tuscany for the first time and wishing to explore the Chianti area and its wonders and will, therefore, be our home for these three nights. The small town dispersed in the Tuscan hills will give us a unique overnight stay, far from the tourist chaos and in the heart of the real Tuscany.
3

Pisa

Tag 4
Leaving early in the morning, after a journey of about 2 hours, we will reach Piazza dei Miracoli (“the square of miracles”), in Pisa, where we will lose ourselves in the unparalleled atmosphere of this place and where we can visit the Cathedral and climb the very famous tower, admiring the breathtaking view of the city.
4

Lucca

Tag 4
Immediately afterward, we will move to a city less famous to the international public, Lucca. Here, we will be able to visit the ancient walls, now used as an elevated promenade encircling the entire city, the Guinigi Tower, with its green hair at the top, and the ever-present Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, which is astonishing in shape.

Lucca is outstanding for its huge oval square of Roman origin, for the walls that totally surround it (the walls, lost their military importance, became a pedestrian promenade, today one of Lucca's main attractions), and for the Guinigi Tower, 44.25 meters high, the top of which is a hanging garden where large, now centuries-old holm oaks have been planted. If we have time, it will also be possible to make a quick escape to the Devil's Bridge, the legend of which says that the bridge was built by St. Giuliano who, unable to complete it because it was too difficult, asked the devil himself for help, promising him in return the soul of the first living being to pass over it.
5

San Gimignano

Tag 4
The next day, we will start our morning with an adventure back in time, getting lost in the beautiful village of San Gimignano, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched on a hill in the Tuscan countryside, it offers breathtaking views and strolls through the past. The ancient city will catapult us back in time, amid its centuries-old walls, moats and towers.

6

Greve in Chianti

Tag 4
Then, in the afternoon, we will have one of the unmissable Chianti experiences, as we will visit one of the most famous wineries in the area, Viticcio, where we will treat ourselves to a full tour of the cellars, tasting of 3 wines paired with our extra virgin olive oil, Tuscan bread, Tuscan cured meats, cheese with honey and mustard, 3 different types of bruschetta.
7

Florence

Tag 4
On the last morning, for the ones who will leave in the afternoon, it will be possible to explore the city a little bit more, making room for less famous monuments such as the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens. For departures, we will make an initial stop at 8:30 AM at Santa Maria Novella Station (where you'll be able to take the Volainbus shuttle bus) for those taking flights in the morning; for everyone else, I will bring you back to the airport by 1 PM at the Departures gate. PLEASE NOTE: It will therefore be important not to book flights before 10 a.m. on May 28, otherwise you will not be able to get to the airport on time.
