Guided trip
Have you ever heard of Apokoronas? It's a beautiful area on the island of Crete in Greece and one of my favorite places. You will be seeing what most people will not get to see. Let's explore it together! I am Virginia, 44 years old. Experienced customer service representative, mother of three, curious and adventurous, a bit geeky when it comes to topics I really like. Looking forward to this fun trip with you! The plan 📍 Two-day tour in the villages of Apokoronas, walking by the river, swimming in clear waters, visiting the lake and learning about the surrounding myths, paddle boats in the lake, enjoying all the beauties of the area and becoming one with the natural habitat. Feel the uniqueness of the area, explore the tiny villages. Accommodation in hotel rooms with private bathrooms. Frequent coffee breaks and eat lunch by the water. Depending on the weather, we can do different trips. On lovely warm summer days, we can walk in areas where there is a breeze. The brave ones can even enjoy sipping coffee, ice tea or even a great variety of locally produced wine in the crystal clear waters of the river. Apokoronas has to offer many different options. We can start from your place of accommodation or from a central downtown location, depending on the number of the participants and the different locations. Grab your sneakers for the walking part and your bathing suit and enjoy! Included in the price: - Hotel Accommodation See you soon, Virginia

Trip Itinerary
1

Lake Kournas

Day 1-2
Crete's only freshwater lake, Lake Kournas, is relatively large, with a perimeter of 3.5 km. There is a nature preserve on the Southwest side of the lake. Paddle boats, swimming, ideal for lunch at the picturesque taverns or even picnics.
2

Aptera

Day 2
In Greek mythology, Aptera was the site of the legendary contest between the Sirens and the Muses, when after the victory of the Muses, the Sirens lost the feathers of their wings from their shoulders, and having thus become white, cast themselves into the sea. The name of the city literally means "without wings", and the neighbouring islands Leucae means "white".
