Nairobi National Park

Day 2-3
We will head to Nairobi National Park, the world's only wildlife reserve located within a capital city! As your tour guide, I am excited to show you this incredible park and share my knowledge of its diverse flora and fauna. We will start our tour early in the morning to take advantage of the best wildlife viewing opportunities. Nairobi National Park is just a short drive from the city center, and we'll arrive in no time. As we enter the park, I will give you a brief introduction to its history, geography, and conservation efforts. Our first stop will be at the park's animal orphanage, where you will have a chance to see baby elephants, rhinos, and other animals that have been rescued from the wild. The orphanage is run by the Kenya Wildlife Service, and it plays a crucial role in rehabilitating animals that have been separated from their mothers or injured in the wild. Next, we will start our game drive through the park. As we move along the dirt roads, I will point out various animals, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, and over 400 species of birds. I will also share interesting facts about the animals and their habitats. The park is unique in that it is located so close to the city, which means that you may even see skyscrapers in the background as you view wildlife. We will stop at several viewpoints along the way to take in the stunning views of the park and the animals. One of the best views is from Observation Hill, where you can see the entire park and get a panoramic view of the surrounding areas. As we continue our game drive, we may encounter some of the park's rangers, who are responsible for monitoring the wildlife and enforcing conservation laws. They play an important role in protecting the animals from poaching and other threats. Our next stop will be at the Ivory Burning Site Monument, which commemorates the burning of 12 tons of elephant tusks in 1989. The event was a powerful statement against the illegal ivory trade, which was decimating elephant populations in Africa. I will explain the history and significance of the monument, and we will take some time to reflect on the impact of poaching on Africa's wildlife. After the monument, we will head to the Nairobi Safari Walk, which provides an excellent opportunity to see animals up close and learn more about conservation efforts in Kenya. The walkway has raised platforms that offer a bird's eye view of the animals, including the endangered black rhino and white rhino. Along the way, I will explain the different habitats of the animals and their behavioral patterns. Before leaving the park, we will make a stop at the gift shop, where you can purchase souvenirs, including locally-made crafts, jewelry, and wildlife-themed merchandise. The gift shop is an excellent place to pick up a memento of your trip and support the local economy. Throughout the tour, I will ensure that you are comfortable and well-informed. I will provide water and snacks and answer any questions you may have about the park and its wildlife. I am passionate about conservation and wildlife, and I hope to inspire you with my enthusiasm for this incredible park and its inhabitants. After this we will head back to Hilton Hotel for the night.
