Trip Itinerary

San José
Day 1-2
Welcome gathering at the hotel and dinner afterwards. We will be handing out the trip plan and all the information for the trip ahead. Arriving in San Jose during the day is highly suggested, if you have the option to fly in a day in advance you can check out the beautiful museums and visit the central market. We will leave early the next day, and we will drive near the highest mountain in Costa Rica (Cerro Chirripo)

Dominical
Day 2-4
Flanked by the Barú River, Dominical is known for its surfing beach and tropical forest hiking trails. We will be traveling by private bus thought the gorgeous Cerro de la Muerte, we'll stop for breakfast along the way and if weather permits we will take a short hike into Cerro Asuncion. Once we've tasted some organic coffee we will continue on our journey to Nuayaca falls, this activity is not optional as we will make the most of our travel day. Once we are finish with the spectacular views, swimming and hiking, we will check in at our hotel. Once we are all rested, we can head to dinner in town to experience some local vibes. Once we have removed the mud from our boots, we'll head out to the local brewery and dinner. There are many options for restaurants and relaxed bars, many set along riverside Main Street. Next day we will take a short trip to a local waterfall and the relax by the beach or the hotel pool. There are local surf lessons available (depending on the tide), yoga lessons or just explore the picturesque town. Monteverde
Day 4-6
Monteverde is the twelfth canton of the Puntarenas province of Costa Rica. It is located in the Cordillera de Tilarán mountain range. Roughly a four-hour drive from the Central Valley, Monteverde is one of the country's major ecotourism destinations. Here we can indulge in some of the best coffee in Costa Rica, explore the cloud forest reserve and perhaps have the chance to see a majestic Quetzal (Seasonal). For the most adventurous you have many optional activities like hiking, canyoning, ziplining (Best zipline in Central America) and going on a bungee jumping experience. For the once not so fanatic of this kind of activities, there are many parks and educational centers (bat cave, butterfly garden, serpentarium, Art galleries, orquid garden and more).

La Fortuna
Day 6-8
La Fortuna is a small town in Costa Rica, northwest of the capital, San José. It’s known as a gateway to Arenal Volcano National Park, comprising 2 volcanoes. Active Arenal Volcano is still laced with lava flows. Hot springs dot the foot of the volcano, on the thermal Tabacón River. Dormant Chato Volcano has a crater lake and rainforest trails leading to La Fortuna Waterfall, with its natural pool. In La Fortuna you will have plenty of opportunities to go whitewater rafting, hanging bridges walks, organic farm visits, cacao tasting, and of course the main attraction: An included visit to the natural volcanic hot springs, we will include this activity on the trip.

San José
Day 8-9
The last day on this small paradise is not an easy one, so we will make the most of our time in La Fortuna, and we'll travel back to San Jose in the afternoon for our final group dinner and farewell. The next, if your flight departs in the afternoon, you might have some to visit the town center, Central Market and some other attractions in town. If anyone is interested in traveling somewhere else afterwards, and I can make some suggestions.
