DATES: Departing 31 July, returning 1 August. 2 Day trip. Curious about the spirits the locals in Western Australia are distilling down South? Well, so am I! I'm organising a small 2 day tour of the distilleries towards Margaret River and looking for 3 people who would like to join along and share the costs. Itinerary is detailed under the map below. It may change slightly depending on what the joining TripMates are interested in too, and can be flexible on the day. ACCOMMODATION: I have rented a delightful looking cottage in Bunbury for our stay. There are 4 bedrooms, so each of us will have our own room. We have the place to ourselves, so can relax and perhaps play board games after our busy day, or walk into town to enjoy a couple of cocktails. COSTS: The price of this trip is to cover my expenses: - Accommodation (4 bedroom house for 1 night) - Car hire - Petrol - Water and snacks for the drive - Fees for tastings if applicable Plus a small fee to cover my time in planning and organising, and the sacrifice I'll make by being designated driver. Other meals and costs are not included. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

We'll arrange a convenient place for me to pick you up in the morning (around 10am). Then we'll stop by the Fremantle Spirit Company for a coffee to get started. They are not currently offering tastings from the cellar door, but they do have a cafe.

Old Coast Road Brewery
Day 1
To break up the long drive, we will stop by a brewery where you may try some of their beers or ciders, while enjoying a wood-fired pizza, or whatever else you're feeling like for lunch.

Cuprum Distillery
Day 1
Currently not open on weekends, but they have told me they will be in time for our trip! They have spiced rum, truffle gin (selling out quickly), rosé vodka, as well as some classics. They distill their quality spirits inside hand-made copper stills using unique botanicals that are indigenous to the South West Australian region.

The West Winds Gin Distillery
Day 1
Australia's most awarded gin distillery, using Australian botanicals to create some unique flavours. This includes a navy strength gin using bush tomato, lemon myrtle and other botanicals.

Day 1
Sweet Things lolly shop, along with Three Lily's Gin, Liqueur and sweet wines.

Bunbury
Day 1-2
This is where we will be staying for the night. It's just a short stroll from the centre of town, where we can go for a nice dinner and enjoy a cocktail bar. I have rented a 4 bedroom cottage so we each have our own bed. If the weather is nice, we can sit out on the deck overlooking the harbour and the hills. Otherwise, we will relax inside with some boardgames. The hosts of the house have warned that the property is reached by a pathway of 13 stone steps (one at the front and one at the side of the property) which may be too steep and uneven for people unsteady on their feet.

Margaret River Distilling Company
Day 2
The producer of Giniversity Gin and home of Limeburners Whisky, Dugite Whiskey and Tiger Snake Whiskey. We will be enjoying a nice lunch here.

The Grove Distillery & Brewery
Day 2
The Grove produces spirit based liqueurs, vodka, whiskey, gin, bourbon and more and have been successful in achieving both international and national awards for their top shelf spirits.

Black Brewing Co
Day 2
Along with Black Brewing Co. is Dune Distilling. SInce releasing the gold medal winning Signature Gin in November 2019, Dune Distilling Co have released a limited edition Yallingup Pink Gin, Hibiscus & Rhubarb Pink Gin, Green Tea & Lime Gin and 2020 Australian Xmas Gin.

Bunbury Farmers Market
Day 2
Not a distiller, but it is a great stop on the way back to the city to pick up tasty local produce.

Day 2
We'll end our journey with some final drinks here. Depending on where you're located / need to be dropped off, perhaps we'll have final drinks in Perth instead.
