Trip Itinerary
1
Wien
Day 1-2
You will arrive to Vienna and beforehand I will provide you with all the information on how to get to the accommodation so you don't have to worry about it. We will check-in, freshen up at the accommodation and then enjoy some dinner and drinks together & get to know each other. 🥂
2
Wien
Day 2
Our first stop will be at the heart of Vienna, in the 1st district. Here we will walk around the city center and visit the Stephansdom (St. Stephen's Cathedral), the Vienna State Opera, Albertina, Karlskirche, Rathaus (Town hall), Volksgarten, Art History & Natural History Museum etc. It will be a day full of walking so in between we can make some stops to rest our feet and also enjoy some drinks or food. At the end of the day I'd want to take you to a famous ice cream place called "Tichy Eissalon" where the famous Eismarillenknödel (ice apricot dumplings) got invented. If everyone would be ok with that, then we can go there and enjoy them or just the normal very delicious ice cream. 🍦
3
Schloss Schönbrunn
Day 2-3
The next day we will visit the beautiful palaces of Vienna. After breakfast we will head to the Schönbrunn Palace, which was the main summer residence of the Habsburg rulers, located in Hietzing, Vienna. The name Schönbrunn (meaning “beautiful spring”) has its roots in an artesian well from which water was consumed by the court. The famous empress Sissi used to live here. We will walk through the huge park and also go to the Gloriette. I will ask in the group if everyone would be interested in visiting the palace inside and if so we will have a longer stop here. ⛲️
4
Naschmarkt
Day 3
Afterwards we will visit the Naschmarkt. The Naschmarkt is Vienna's most popular market. Located at the Wienzeile over the Wien River, it is about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) long. The atmosphere of the Naschmarkt is famous far beyond the borders of Vienna, and large numbers of tourists visit the market every year. There are many coffee places & restaurant close by so we can then also enjoy some food there before going to our next destination. 🍎🍇🍑🍉
5
Schloss Belvedere
Day 3
The Belvedere is a historic building complex in Vienna consisting of two Baroque palaces (the Upper and Lower Belvedere), the Orangery, and the Palace Stables. The buildings are set in a Baroque park landscape in the third district of the city, on the south-eastern edge of its centre. It houses the Belvedere museum. Here again if interested the museum can be visited inside but I'll check with the group. 😊
6
Kahlenberg
Day 3-4
After breakfast our first stop will be the Kahlenberg. The Kahlenberg is a mountain located in the 19th District of Vienna. It lies in the Vienna Woods and is one of the most popular destinations for day-trips from Vienna, offering a view over the entire city. We will go up there by public transport and then go down by having a walk through the Vienna Woods as well as the Vienna Vineyards. We will definitely make a stop at one of the Heurigen at the Vienna Vineyards to enjoy some local wine. A Heuriger is a tavern where local winemakers serve their new wine. Just enjoy some wine & snacks. 🍷🍇 ❗️Please note that we can only do this stop if we have nice weather. Otherwise I'll look for an alternative like visiting museums etc. In general the summer is very warm and not very rainy in Vienna so I think we will be lucky. 😊
7
Prater
Day 4
The Prater is a large public park. The Wurstelprater, an amusement park that is often simply called "Prater", lies in one corner of the Wiener Prater and includes the Wiener Riesenrad Ferris wheel. Here we can join a tour on the big wheel to get a nice view of whole Vienna and if interested we can also have a look and use some of the parks activities and have some fun. 🎡
8
Donauinsel
Day 4
I also want to take you to the Danube where we can have some drinks and enjoy the rest of the day and the sun. Just relax and enjoy the moment. ❗️Please note that we can only do this stop if we have nice weather. 😊
9
Donauturm
Day 4
In the evening, on our last night, we will go to the Donauturm (Danube tower) and enjoy the view over Vienna by night. There is also a restaurant if you want to enjoy a drink over there but we can decide that spontaneously. There we can then also talk about our experience and highlights of the trip.
10
Wien
Day 4-5
Goodbye.. we will enjoy one last breakfast together, check-out and then everyone will head back home. ♥️ I'll help you with information on how to get to the airport/train station/bus station so you don't have to worry about it. ☺️ I'm sure that you will like Vienna and I hope you will visit the city again after our trip together. 👋🏼
