Discover the magic of Rome in a way that truly resonates with your spirit. As we explore iconic sites such as the Colosseum, standing proud with its ancient stones whispering tales of gladiators, and Vatican City, including the awe-inspiring Sistine Chapel, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps, you will be captivated by the city's rich history. But there's so much more to uncover! We'll visit Capitoline Hill, where panoramic terraces offer breathtaking views, and admire incredible Caravaggio paintings and Michelangelo's Moses, each telling its own captivating story. We'll stroll through some small charming neighborhoods, immersing ourselves in the vibrant local culture. We won't miss the Orange Garden and the Secret Keyhole, which promise a unique experience. We will step out of Rome for a day to enjoy a mix of nature, fascinating history, and traditional Italian hilltop living. Experience the powerful waterfalls at Terni, the longest drop falls in Italy, with its riverside walks and the stunning Lovers Balcony, said to be linked to St.Valentino. Next comes Ferentillo, home to a unique phenomenon, the Museum of the Mummies. The natural mummification results from the combination of organisms in the soil and the atmosphere, this fascinating site which attracts visitors from all over Europe. During our trip, enjoy delicious Roman pasta, pizza, gelato, and coffee while making new friends who will share these unforgettable moments with you.
Ciao I’m Tatiana and I will be your Trip Leader on the Rome trip. I worked as a tour leader for some of the large tour operators for 20 years, I then created my own very popular one-day tours, and now I’m extending these into some great multi-day experiences. Why travel with me? - My tours are not all about following a guide waving a flag and churning out dates and boring facts. - On my tours there won’t be any tourist food at tourist prices and there won’t be tourist traps. - My tours are like travelling with a friend who knows the interesting stuff about interesting places. - I want you to take your time, enjoy absorbing the atmosphere, the food, the people, the culture and the surroundings. - You’ve heard the saying ‘it's not what you know; it's who you know’. That’s how things work in Italy and because you’re with me you’ll receive top-notch food, service and smiles because my friends are your friends, and you’ll be treated like one of the family. There are no rules on my tours but I do ask the following: - Have a sense of humor. Things don’t always go as planned, that festa in the street may block the way and make us late. That pizza you ordered without mushrooms may come with…mushrooms. Smile, laugh, order another and share your unwanted mushroom pizza with your new friends. - That you love good cuisine. You will eat and drink some of the best things you’ve ever tasted on my tours, so every day I’ll need all your dedication to it! - Be spontaneous. Planning is all well and good, but some of the best moments are those that aren’t planned!

Our accommodations will be in double rooms, although single rooms are available at an additional cost.

Trip Itinerary
1
Metropolitan City of Rome Capital
Day 1
Today is the arrival day. Since the group will be coming from different cities and countries, it may not be easy for everyone to arrive at the same time. Therefore, I am designating this day as a leisure day. You can choose to arrive in the morning to take advantage of an extra day in Rome, or you can arrive in the afternoon or evening, depending on your travel schedule and flight fares. After checking into your rooms, take some time to relax. In the evening, we will gather together for dinner in the Ponte Milvio neighborhood, which is renowned for its lively aperitivo scene, historic bridge, and vibrant evenings. This will be a great opportunity for us to get to know each other, chat, laugh, and start making new friends. What’s included: - Overnight stay in Rome

Day 1-2
Today promises to be quite a busy day, so get ready! We will experience something that Julius Caesar, Augustus, and Nero never witnessed: the largest Roman amphitheater ever built, the world-famous “Arena of Death", - the Colosseum. We will climb Palatine Hill, where Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome, were said to be suckled by a she-wolf. We will explore the official seat of the spirit of Rome, the Roman Forum, as well as the Imperial Forums. We will visit the most spectacular panoramic terrace in Rome, located atop the monument to Victor Emmanuel II. No other location in Rome is more central, elevated, or impressive. At the top of the Vittoriano, we will be reminded of the ancient words of the German poet Johann Wolfgang Goethe, so let’s join him in exclaiming, “I have finally arrived in this Capital of the World!” Next come Circus Maximus, Aventine Hill, Orange Garden, Tiber Island, and much more! After a long, hectic day, we totally deserve some delicious Roman pizza, and what better place to enjoy it than in the charming neighborhood of Trastevere? What's included: - Overnight stay in Rome - Breakfast - Skip-the-line ticktes to the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill - Priority access to the Panoramic Terrace of Altare della Patria via panoramic elevator

Day 2-3
What to Expect Today? Today, we will begin by exploring the smallest state in the world: Vatican City. This unique state covers an area of approximately 0.44 hectares and has its own coins, stamps, daily newspaper, railway station, telecommunications, army, and police force. We will start at Saint Peter’s Square, an impressive ellipse measuring 320 meters deep and 240 meters wide, surrounded by 284 columns, 88 pilasters, and 140 statues of saints who watch over the visitors below. Next, we’ll visit Saint Peter’s Basilica, the first temple of Christianity and a treasure chest of art. We won't miss Saint Peter's Dome, where you can discover this masterpiece from a unique perspective. Get up close to its magnificent mosaics and experience the emotions of observing every detail as Michelangelo Buonarroti, the artist behind it, once did. Onboard an open bus we’ll also explore the natural and architectural beauty of the Vatican Gardens, the “green heart” of the Vatican city. Finally, we'll visit the Vatican Museums, one of the most renowned museum complexes in the world. Be enchanted by the beautiful frescoes in the sacred Sistine Chapel, a remarkable gem of the Vatican Palaces, where “the truths of our faith speak to us from all sides.” Take your time and explore at your own pace. In the afternoon, after a bit of rest, follow me as we discover some of the most beautiful squares in Rome: Piazza del Popolo, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and Campo de' Fiori. We will conclude our day with dinner at one of the restaurants in the Piazza Navona area, one of the most fascinating parts of Rome's city center. What’s included: - Overnight stay in Rome - Breakfast - St. Peter’s Basilica priority access - St. Peter’s Basilica Dome priority access via elevator - Vatican Gardens open bus tour with an audio guide - Vatican Museums & the Sistine Chapel skip-the-line tickets

Day 3-4
Following two demanding days in Rome, it's time to leave the city behind and unwind with a day in the stunning Umbrian countryside. While remnants of ancient Roman ingenuity abound throughout Italy—such as roads, bridges, aqueducts, and amphitheaters—there exists a distinctive Roman marvel in southern Umbria: the man-made waterfall called Cascata delle Marmore, or Marmore Falls. Standing at 165 meters tall, it is the highest artificial waterfall in Europe. For more than 2,000 years, Marmore Falls has attracted numerous visitors who have painted, photographed, described, and celebrated this breathtaking site. Next, we will head to Ferentillo, which boasts a remarkable site: the Museum of the Mummies. The museum's rather "macabre" title inevitably leads to curiosity about the presence of mummies in southern Umbria. Let’s delve into this by visiting the crypt of St. Stephen's Church in Precetto, where the museum is currently housed. What's included: - Overnight stay in Rome - Breakfast - Marmore Waterfalls entrance fee - Private transportation from Rome to Marmore Waterfalls & Ferentillo Mummies Museum

Arrivederci! What’s included: - Breakfast breakfast
