2 days adventure: discover mountains lake castles

Ppss, do you want to discover a well kept secret? Join me and I'll open you the doors of one of the hidden gem of our region, near to Rome but completely different, where you can make a jump into the past, among tiny villages (we call them "borghi"), lush nature, green mountains for a great hike within old trees, waterfalls to admire, huge castles to discover, blue lakes where you can swim/kayak/sailing, and much more. I will take on kayak on the lake and hike our tracks until the peaks (not too difficult -;) inside the Park, of which I'm an official licensed Guide, telling lots of info about flora, fauna, history and legends of this unchanged Italy. I'll show you fantastic spots for your pictures and we'll meet together the locals. I'll host you for the night in one of the "Top 100''s Italian Borghi", with an amazing lake view, in an old stone house fully renovated, with fireplace and a big terrace overlooking the sunset. So, take a break from the hustle and bustle of the big cities, come to discover the Turano Valley and it will be one of the best memories you'll bring back with you! Paolo TURANO EXPERIENCES AHHHH... I can't skip this point: here you can taste the BEST food or your vacation, with handmade pasta as ravioli gnocchi fettuccine and local products Km 0 (famous sheep cheese, porcini mushrooms, meat, legumes) so....can't wait for it! ==== 2 DAYS EXPERIENCE ====== DAY 1 DETAILS: - meeting at Roma Termini station to take the train to Carsoli (about 1 hour, ticket not included) - from Carsoli station short transfer with our cars to Castel di Tora on Turano lake, with blue and green waters, in a valley between mountains and enchanting villages - medium level hiking (4 hours, 8 km round trip) in the Natural Park -of which I'm an Official Guide- up to the peak of Mount Navegna, a terrace above two lakes, between woods and meadows, eagles and wildlife. During the hiking I'll give you many info about the Reserve and the territory - packed lunch included with local products - short visit of Vallecupola, the shepherds' village, with its rock and, if we're lucky, fresh cheese - return to the lake, guided tour of Castel di Tora one of "the most beautiful Italian villages" - full dinner in a characteristic restaurant/farmhouse, including homemade pasta, local products, wine, dessert - overnight in the village in an old stone house, fully renovated, with lake and mountain view, with your private bedroom and bathroom DAY 2 DETAILS: - breakfast - tour of the Turano lake by kayak/boat + swimming on the lake (if thea weather won't be good, we'll hike and/or visit medieval village) - packet lunch with local products - easy hike to the local waterfalls, with lush nature OR Visit Antuni abandoned village - transfer to Carsoli station, where you'll take the train back to Rome Notes participants must be in good physical condition and able to walk on paths, with clothing and shoes suitable for trekking.
