Coworking trip
Hey fellow Digital Nomad! 😎 Getting dark outside? Time to get ready for your winter work-away retreat in our Paradise Island Sri Lanka! 🏝️ WHO ARE YOU? Are you a beginner entrepreneur? A Digital Nomad already? Or just about to quit your day job and start your own business? Starting a new project of yours? Do you have a passion you’d like to share? Exploring your purpose? Do you have a vision? Or are you just a little bit crazy? 🤪 If any of these statements fits you, you’re the perfect match for our February Yoga-Cowork-Clarity-Retreat for Digital Nomads on the beautiful island of Sri Lanka! 🥳 Let’s pack our Yoga mats, laptops, notebooks and swimsuits and meet up to kickstart the year with a month of getting crystal clear on the goals for our business, resetting the body and mind, and support each other to remove all the obstacles on the way in order to power through 2023! WHO AM I? I am Elena, 34 years young, an architect and yoga teacher, and I used to be a frustrated employee who used to sit on her desk day in and day out dreaming about the life she could have, if only she could be free enough to do what she wants. Today, I am on the brink of fine-tuning the exact formula for my personal perfect work-life balance. I have used the tools and practices I know from Yoga and self-development work to get clear about what I want to do with my life, how I would like to work, where and with whom. But the most important part of this journey was taking the leap. The leap from quitting a ‘safe’ job that just wasn’t fulfilling, of turning fear of the unknown into excitement about the possibilities. WHY GO? That is why I would like to create this Yoga coworking experience for us, where we’ll commit 14 days or even 1 full month (Both options available, check out the details!) to focus on the next steps that will define our year 2023. This trip will be a mixture between a coworking trip and a yoga retreat. 💻🧘 We’ll start each day with a guided dynamic movement session, led by me, Vinyasa style, in order to shake off stress, reset the body and mind, and prime the Nervous System to calm down in order to be ready for the work sessions. During the day, we’ll work together on our respective projects, while holding space for each other in daily/weekly brainstorm and mastermind sessions, where we co-coach each other through potential obstacles, share suggestions and knowledge, and most importantly, hold each other accountable to follow through on our goals with appropriate action steps. Tough love, baby 🙂 A typical Monday could look like this: 6:30 am: Wake up to the Jungle sounds 🌿 7 - 8 am: Yoga practice 🙏 8 - 9 am: Journaling/Reflection/Meditation/Ocean dip time 📗 9 - 10 am: Coffee + Breakfast time (in-house) ☕ 10 - 11am: Strategy Session (individual) 🧐 11- 12am: Group Check-In 👯 Each TM presents their Goal of the week + strategy on how to achieve it + what obstacles are in the way >>> Group shares feedback / brainstorm solutions 12 - 1 pm: Work time 🤓 1pm: Lunch 🍛 2 - 4:30 pm: Work time 🤓 4:30 pm: Surf lessons / Evening Yoga / Free time 🏄 7 pm: Dinner 🍤 ...Of course, everyone can decide on their own individual work schedule, too. The world’s your oyster… ✨ WHERE TO? I selected my second home, Sri Lanka, for this special purpose. What place could be better to reset yourself than a palm fringed lagoon-bay, sparkling blue (warm!) water to swim, snorkel or surf in, monkeys jumping around and friendly dogs greeting you on the quiet streets? 🐒🐕 Right?! If that sounds like somewhere you’d love to go, let me introduce you to a small village called HIRIKETIYA on the South coast of the island, where we’ll have our accommodation. We’ll be staying at a co-living place, nestled away in a little side street. The place has just been opened, so we’ll be amongst the first guests to stay in this freshly refurbished colonial house. 🏠 There are two sleep rooms with respective 4 single bunk beds (for the double room, check out my separate Trip offer!) with adjoined shared washrooms. We’ll have an indoor, AC, Fibre WIFI cowork space right on the property, a self-catered kitchen, and an outdoor Tuktuk-Coffee/Cocktail bar that calls to chill out in the lush garden between or after work! 🤩 (Please note: depending on the amount of bookings for our trip, we might share the place with other like-minded nomads who live and work there. The more, the merrier!) Our house is only a few walking minutes away from the amazing Hiriketiya Beach (see cover photo!) and surrounded by little cafés and restaurants. Hiriketiya is one of the last well-preserved “secret spots” for Digital Nomads, where you can still find the serene ambiance of a jungle island village, but have enough options to go out and find live music at the beach on the weekends. 💃🕺 Be careful, you might not want to ever leave this place! 💚 HOW’S SRI LANKA LIKE? Sri Lanka has recently undergone an economic crisis. You might have heard about the protests and the political changes that have happened this year. The country is now recovering, with a few challenges still lingering, like occasional power cuts and the unavailability of some imported foods. Yet, Sri Lanka is a safe place to travel to. I can tell from a first-hand experience, since I lived here for a year in 2021, and am currently already in the country for the whole winter. What I experience is actually an exceptionally beautiful version of this country, since the hotspots and beaches are far less crowded than in a usual season. What impresses me is that even though the people here have undergone quite some struggles personally and financially, they never give up their contagious smiles and super welcoming hospitality. For our retreat, we’ll have my Sri Lankan partner with us, who will help to communicate and be the bridge to the local scene around. We are planning to introduce you to some Sri Lankan cooking, and take you on a weekend trip to see some other stunning parts of the country! The weather in February is top for the season, with guaranteed sunshine, and next to no rain, with an average temperature of around 29°C. It is within the most popular travel times for Sri Lanka. HOW DO I GET IN? ✈️ The airport you will want to check your flight connections for is COLOMBO Bandaranaike, just about 40-min drive north of the capital Colombo. From there, we’ll arrange an airport pick-up to our place in Hiriketiya, which is located at the South Coast. The drive should take about 3,5h over the highway. At the moment, there is an easy-to get 30 day ETA or Visa on Arrival for tourists. It can be extended (online) up to 6 months. However, I always suggest to check on the latest regulations for your country before you go, just to be on the sure side. If you have any further doubts or questions about Sri Lanka as a travel country, VISA, or packing-related questions, feel free to message me or ask them in our personal conversation! WHAT’S INCLUDED? Ok guys, let’s wrap this up, so you can start packing. I am looking to put together a well-matching group mixed of different individuals that ideally will be able to help each other in each other’s progress to grow and evolve. 🥰 I expect everyone who participates to contribute to a safe team-feel atmosphere, but also respect needs for alone-time. We’re all mature adults, so I’m sure we’ll find a good balance and a healthy open communication 🙌 And of course, I expect us to have a lot of fun together and enjoy each other’s company! Just like you, I also will be working on my project 6-8h per day after the morning Yoga (apart from guiding our group coaching sessions), but am available for any kind of questions or needs regarding our accommodation, in-house food, etc. WHAT NOW? I think I’ve said enough! I hand it over to you to make up your mind if you want to be part of this experience! I am excited to get to know you in our personal chat and hear your story! Let’s connect and make it happen 🤗 Cheers and tschüss, Elena ✌️
