Weekend Getaway to Alsace - Explore Interesting Strasbourg and Romantic Colmar with me!

Welcome to Alsace! Meet me and your other tripmates in a French bakery in Strasbourg where we will get to know each other and discuss our plans for the next two days over a traditional piece of baked goods (one croissant or tartelette and one coffee, tea or soft drink included). After that, we will start our adventure. There is so much to see in Strassbourg: an impressive cathedral, a very cute area with timbered houses called “Petite France”, the covered bridges, a beautiful parc… In the late afternoon, we will leave Strasbourg and take the train to the romantic village of Colmar, our next destination.

Upon arrival in Colmar, we will drop off our bags at the hotel and get ready for dinner. You will feel like in a fairy tale strolling through the iconic neighbourhood “Little Venice". For dinner, I would love to take you to a restaurant where “Tarte Flambee”, a traditional delicious regional dish is served (dinner at own expenses). We will spend the night in Colmar.

The next morning, after breakfast we will enjoy the beautiful scenery a little bit more and explore the covered market of Colmar and find out even more about why the French are so well known for their food. We will take a short boat trip on the river and have a glance at this beautiful village from the water (boat trip included). After the boat trip, we will take the train to a small village where you will have the chance to take part in a wine tasting and enjoy the amazing small town. After travelling back to Colmar, the trip ends and it's time to say goodbye. I will take the train back to Strassbourg, if you need to go back as well feel free to accompany. If you would like to stay in the area longer please reach out to me - I can assist you with finding a place to stay or give tips to other interesting destinations neary (for example the Black Forest is very close, famous Heidelberg too).
