South Crete Trekking

In the morning you will picked up from the airport of Chania or Heraklion by our team. We will travel to the south,passing from Imbros gorge where we make a short stop for coffee. At noon we will arrive at Agios Ioannis village and find our space to the rooms. After lunch it’s time for briefing and an evening hike into the forests end up at a view point above Libyan sea! Back to our guesthouse for dinner and overnight. Hike duration : 5 km- 3 hours| easy

After our breakfast around 8.00 am we leave the village and through old stonemade path we descent until sea level. Here it’s time for swimming and refresh! We stay at the beach at least 1 hour and then we will continue to Agia Roumeli village. Once we suit ourselves to the hotel we will have our lunch at a local taverna. In the evening you may try sea kayak or spend your time on the beach. The night it will be more atmospheric than ever. Hike duration 12 km – 5 hours: moderate.

The last day we will hike the Samaria gorge but in an opposite way instead of most people do descending the gorge. In the morning after our breakfast around 8.00am our hike will start. The hike is about 15 km and 6 hours. Of course you will make several stops on the way up. The gorge is friendly and shady at the most part. There are springs and an old village in the middle of it. Around 15.00pm we will reach Omalos plateau at 1200m where you will have time to eat something before we take you back to your hotels!
