Tag 1-2
I will be waiting for you with a warm welcome 🤗 at our accommodation where you can feel Istanbul in your soul. We will take a short walk to get to know our neighborhood when everybody joins us. In the meantime, we can also do grocery shopping for the next days. Welcome dinner will provide a good opportunity to get to know each other better. 😉 I will give a short brief about our one week trip. If there's anything you want to add or remove, the trip is open for planning together since this is our trip!!

Grand Mecidiye Mosque (Ortaköy Mosque)

We begin our day before sunrise with the starting point of our photography walk, which is Ortaköy. If the weather is clear you may have bunch of great sunrise photos. This morning, I will share with you a little surprise 🤫 that I think will add fun and excitement to our trip. I can't wait to see your reactions!!

Dolmabahçe Palace
Tag 2
Then we visit Dolmabahçe Palace, which will impress you with its symmetry, magnificence and wonderful view of the Bosphorus. Although now a museum, it was once home to Ottoman Sultans and the first president of the Republic of Turkey. It is forbidden to take photos inside, but you can capture many photos from the garden of the palace without tripod. We will go to our next stop after enjoying our tea or Turkish coffee with the sea view in a nostalgic cafe inside the palace.

Galata Tower

We will return to Galata Tower, where our Airbnb is located, both to park our car and continue our photo walk after having a brunch. We can have a traditional Turkish breakfast in a sweet place or make a quick start with simit and ayran / tea as locals do. 😜 After taking photos of Galata Tower and its surroundings from different angles, we will go to Istiklal Street. Relax! I didn't skip anything. We can climb to the tower to see the city from a bird's eye view whenever we want since our Airbnb is right next to it. 😉

İstiklal Caddesi
Tag 2-3
We go to Istiklal Street which is the heart of modern Istanbul. On this street, where we walk towards Taksim Square, you will have the opportunity to take photos of various sights of people, street vendors, street performers, cafes and the famous red tram. 🚋 Here you will have the chance to try a few street food that you may crave. 😋 This street and the area around Galata are also worth photographing at night, but if our batteries are dead, it's time to relieve the sweet tiredness of the second day at home. 😴

Galata Bridge

In the first light of the morning 🌞, we start the day by photographing the fishermen throwing their fishing rods into the sea on the Galata Bridge. We will share the joy of the fishermen who catch the first fish 🐟 of the day. The fish we're going to eat at dinner. 😋

Sultanahmet Square
Tag 3
We will continue from Galata Bridge to Sultanahmet Square by tram. We view the amazing Blue Mosque whose interior walls are covered with 20,000 blue Iznik tiles. We visit Hagia Sophia which is right across Blue Mosque. After we will visit the magnificent Topkapi Palace, once home to the great Sultans. We can taste the famous Sultanahmet meatballs when all this hustle and bustle has made you hungry. 😋

Grand Bazaar
Tag 3
We continue to explore Grand Bazaar, built in 1457. The biggest and oldest bazaar where you can feel the smell of hundreds of spices. This bazaar is really huge and it's like labyrinth garden. You better follow me like a duckling. 😜

Balat
Tag 3
We will walk in a very cute neighborhood with colorful buildings, ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 each one different from the other. But that's not all, local people here are as colorful as the buildings. We also will visit historical and religious Greek structures.

Bosphorus
Tag 3-4
We are going to enjoy 1.5 hour Bosphorus tour with the seagulls accompanying us at sunset time. We will see once again the signature structures of the city we have seen so far. Sit back and enjoy the tour while feeding the seagulls with "simit".

Anatolian Side
Tag 4-5
We will visit photogenic places along the coast on the Anatolian side, such as Kuzguncuk which is a neighborhood as sweet as Balat, Beylerbeyi Palace, Kuleli Military High School. The sunset should be watched from the Anatolian side. We are going to look at the night of Istanbul from the Camlica hill. We will spend the day by car to save time.

Belgrad Forest
Tag 5-6
In the early hours of the morning, we will hit a little road with our car 🚗 and go for a walk to the Belgrad Forest 🌲 which is far from the city. After a few busy days, you will have the opportunity to relax and renew here. It's a great spot for fall photos 🍂🍁.

Büyükada
Tag 6-7
We will take a day trip to the largest island of the Princes Islands. After one hour boat ride from the city center to the island in the eary morning, we will start to explore the island. If you want, we can explore the whole island by bike 🚴 or go for a walk. You will enjoy traveling on this sweet island with its wooden houses, historical churches, quiet and calm surroundings and electric vehicles. After returning from the island, we will relax in traditional Turkish Bath, relieve all our tiredness and be ready for the journey home for the next day. :)
