Hey 😊 Soon, it will be Christmas market time again..... Yaaayyy 🎄🤶🎅 A wonderful time to explore this beautiful country. ... 🌏 Dimmed lights 🕯️, a scent of cinnamon and mulled wine 🍷 and loving handicrafts between historic walls. Christmas markets in Germany are not only found in the impressive old towns of the major cities in the federal state, but also in historic palaces and castles with a unique, romantic ambience, in amusement parks or even in museums. 🌇 This gives you that very special Christmas flair! That's why I have a selection for you for small, cozy Christmas markets in a fairy tale and exciting environment.🌃 Visit with me, among other things: - the Cologne Cathedral - the most beautiful Christmas market in Europe - the oldest Christmas market in Germany - beautiful castles - old buildings - UNESCO world heritage sites and so on. - And of course lots of culinary highlights We spend our first six nights in an Airbnb apartment in Cologne. From Cologne, we visit different Christmas markets and big cities every day. I have included these as different stops in this trip... And to save the best for last, I take you to a visit to Erfurt and Dresden, with its traditional and oldest Christmas Market. Do not miss tasting the "Stollen" here, a rich dried fruit cake! 🥧🍪🌰 💰 The trip price INCLUDES: TRANSPORT: Flixbus, train, city bus and rental bike (we meet at the first Airbnb in Cologne and part on the last day in Cologne) ACCOMMODATION: Airbnb in a shared room for 2-3 people in one room. If you want a private room, the price will be higher ACTIVITIES: - There is so much to explore and discover in every city we visit. That's why we have the option of buying a city ticket in every city, which allows us to travel freely on public transport and in which visits to cultural institutions are mostly allowed. As a team, we would decide together or individually what to visit and see BUFFER: for fluctuating prices for room or transport, sunk costs and other tips Please note: - Eating and drinking is excluded - PCR/antigen is excluded - SIM card is excluded My expectation: This trip is very good for our mental health, let's be happy together. Let's have a lifetime adventure and be a family. I prefer fellow travelers with some compassion and understanding and high tolerance for each other. We will live like locals and experience many new things in terms of food and places. If you are also allergic to certain foods, plants or animals, please let me know. We can also share the cost of preparing food. Regulation of the country Covid: You have to bring your vaccination result OR a PCR-negative result 2x24 hours and at least 2 times vaccinated VISA: Please make sure of your country of origin. Do you have any questions? Send me a message 📬 I look forward to meeting you 🌻

Köln

Tag 1-2
Our beautiful trip begins in Cologne. Here I welcome you, and we get to know each other. After the meal, we visit the first Christmas markets, and have a good time together. At our first Christmas market we can enjoy hot chestnuts, mulled wine and buy unique Christmas gifts.
2

Köln

Tag 2-3
The Christmas market at Cologne Cathedral is only one of seven Christmas markets in Cologne, but it is definitely the Christmas market with the most beautiful scenery. Five million visitors a year are received directly in front of the Cologne Cathedral in the run-up to Christmas. Over 150 different stands offer culinary variety, homemade products and interesting gift ideas. In addition, more than 100 great events are waiting for you, as well as a contemplative children's program. In the middle of the market towers the largest natural Christmas tree in North Rhine-Westphalia, at 25 meters high (don't get confused: the largest assembled Christmas tree is in Dortmund!). Don't forget to take a Cologne treasure cup home with you to always remind you of this special day.
3

Düsseldorf

Tag 3-4
Düsseldorf presents itself with attractive urban architecture and stands for Rhenish lifestyle with its well-known old town. The promenade Königsallee - the "Kö" - is just as popular. Here we have time to visit several Christmas markets in this city: for example the large Christmas market in the old town and on the Rhine river. In any case we visit a real castle in Düsseldorf (my favorite) and the Christmas market here and enjoy some sweets, mulled wine, chestnuts and so on.
4

Essen

Tag 4-5
Over 250 varied stands from international market traders adorn the atmospherically designed inner city of Essen. Guests of the Christmas market can see their fill of vendors' huts from 20 different countries, taste regional mulled wine and taste delicacies from all over the world. In addition to culinary highlights, you are guaranteed to find the perfect Christmas present for your loved ones here. The Light Weeks take place at the same time as the Christmas market, transforming the city into a glowing sea of lights. You can't stop dreaming here!
5

Bonn

Tag 5-6
The medieval city of Bonn is already a highlight in itself due to its historic old town with the imposing Bonn Minster, the famous Beethoven House and the romantic Old Town Hall. In the run-up to Christmas, the city center is transformed into a breathtaking sea of lights, with delicious Christmas scents that permeate the small streets. The overall picture of the market is rounded off with the life-size, visual advent calendar at the town hall. In addition to around 170 different stands, a varied stage program and great musical entertainment await you.
6

Münster

Tag 6-7
The Prinzipalmarkt in a golden glow, gabled houses and churches are subtly illuminated, and the shops are festively decorated, light trees adorn the streets and the scent of fir greenery and mulled wine wafts through the streets. Six Christmas markets with around 300 stands invite you to stroll, shop and enjoy. Have a great time in one of my favorite cities.
7

Erfurt

Tag 7-9
The Erfurt Christmas market is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany and the largest in Thuringia. The medieval old town of Erfurt around the cathedral square offers the ideal backdrop for an atmospheric pre-Christmas period. Traditional handicrafts and Thuringian specialties can be found as well as a huge, candle-decorated Christmas tree with a nativity scene and hand-carved, almost life-size figures, as well as many showman-style shops. The entire city center is ablaze with lights, shops and department stores have put on Advent decorations. Christmas melodies ring out and the scent of mulled wine and gingerbread is in the air. Also, noteworthy are the approx. 25 meter high, festively illuminated Christmas tree and the 12-meter-high Christmas pyramid. A rich program of events is offered, especially on the Advent weekends.
8

Dresden

Tag 9-11
Dresden with its Christmas markets is the secret Christmas capital of Germany. The glittering chain of Christmas markets leads from the main train station via Prager Strasse to the Altmarkt, where one of the oldest Christmas markets in Germany - the Striezelmarkt - takes place every year. It continues along Schloßstraße, via the Neumarkt, past the Frauenkirche to the other side of the Elbe to the Christmas market on Hauptstraße and the Neustadt Advent in the magnificent baroque district. Enjoy the wonderful weeks before Christmas in Dresden! Here you will find all information about the large Christmas markets in Dresden. We will also try the Dresdner Christstollen, it is inextricably linked to the history of the cultural city of Dresden. The tradition of baking Christmas stollen in Dresden is very, very old. The history of this noble Christmas pastry can be traced back to around the year 1400. At all times in the history of the city, Dresden's traditional pastries played an outstanding role. Only high-quality, noble raw materials and exquisite ingredients are processed.
